I believe Trump handled this in a fatherly way and was genuinely concerned for Musk's mental health. He has seen it before, and that's why he was  asking if  Musk was wacked out on drugs. Yes, it is called a reality check, much like a parent who reminds a  whinging son to  get off the  sofa and to get a job. Trump held back, despite the unfair and  provocative things Musk said. Musk had promised $1 trillion in savings and did not deliver..
