The borders have not been "open" since they were closed over 100 years ago. Certain people have been allowed to stay. Open means anyone can come in. Nothings changed. I used to go Ski-ing every winter (Lake Tahoe), and diving every summer (Florida).

Then some large black low class woman screamed and shouted at me and my family for stepping over a line on the floor in an immigration entry queue, and I never went again.

Denying what? The borders aren't and haven't been open. They come in daily, illegally, and don't belong there. There doesn't have to be anyone coming in anywhere to have murderers, child rapists, drug smugglers or human traffickers already there. In all countries. Wide open means they're allowed. That they cross daily doesn't mean open, but that they're crossing into another country without permission. This we learned before high school.

Some came legally, making tourist and work visas. Some married US citizens and were granted permission to stay. Some crossed borders in many different ways, using coyotes with a promise of a job.

They've always been walking freely in. When they're caught, they're lead out in buses back south. I've never said anything about them being able to stay, but just that they come daily. No one should be allowed to stay unless they have legally working close family members or asylum seekers from fear, until it's proven justified. Or that they obtain legal working papers.

Tell us how long ago since you lived in Texas? Times change. Trump in 2016 just wanted to build a wall, 2020 Biden pretty much invited the border crisis at a debate with Trump, Biden revoked all of Trump's border policies, stopped building the wall. Have you forgotten the buses of migrants being sent to NYC and Chicago and the turmoil this caused.  This was all Biden. His admin caused this s**tshow.

 

The old days the migrants left their families south of the border, they picked the crops, sent money home and went home themselves after the seasonal work. But, now they bring the families, send their kids to school, rent homes. Good luck finding a school in Texas without too many Latino kids needing special assistance and the school dumbing down the studies.

Hope you have the funds for a private school or able to reside in the Good School district.
