Restaurants of course.

But as far as I know, also owned by King Power.

No, they are not. KP "own" all the commercial space at the airport and they sublet space to other people, they only "own" the duty free shops.

Yeah that was my understanding too.

I find better deals in the domestic shops and liquor shops, Cigarettes are cheaper at 7/11. It is a scam. I never buy anything anymore at the so called "duty free" shops and that is not only in Thailand. I get better deals in ordinary shops in most countries.

Large Toblerone KP £4, Morrisons UK today price £3. Duty free my ar#e. 🤣😂😡

If you spotted a large Toblerone at that price in KP then you did very well. Their chocolate prices are astronomical!

Ciggies and baccy prices are still good compared to the UK but have increased dramatically over the last couple of years. Probably still cheaper to buy Golden Virginia outside of Duty Free IF you can find it.

I bought some Drum tobacco from KP last year for a mate. He said it was mainly twigs and sweepings and asked me not to bother next time even though it was free!

Last week I picked up a liter of JW Island Green (travel retail) in Taipei for $51. Months earlier when there was still Duty Free at Arrivals in BKK, the same was over $70. Something needed to change.

Where are they going to go? 7-Eleven?

KP is making a bargaining ploy by the sound of it. Renegotiate contracts at better fees for KP.

The timing of this cancellation request follows the appointment of King Power's new CEO, Nitinai Sirisarntkarn, who has oversight experience having served as AOT’s CEO for eight years.

Clearly, this new CEO of KP who used to be CEO of AOT has been hired to make a lot of money for KP. As former CEO of AOT, he will know exactly how AOT operates and how to screw them.

Nowadays people can quickly find out prices on the Internet and see if the price at a duty-free is any good.
