Georgealbert Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Picture courtesy of Amarin. A 24-year-old man from Lampang suffered injury when several of his toes were severed after his foot became entangled in the chain and sprocket of a motorcycle. Emergency responders from the Sawang Lampang Rescue Unit rushed to the entrance of Suksawat Village, located along the Lampang–Mae Tha road in Phra Bat subdistrict, following reports of a crash. Upon arrival, they found the injured man, referred to as Mr A (name withheld), bleeding heavily from his right foot. According to rescuers, his big toe through to his ring toe (fourth toe) were badly torn, with the tips of several toe completely severed. The index and middle toes were nearly fully detached. Despite an immediate search by the rescue team and accompanying friends, the missing toe fragment could not be located. First aid was promptly administered before Mr A was rushed to Lampang Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Initial reports indicate that Mr A had been riding his motorcycle when it ran out of fuel. He called a friend for assistance. Upon arrival, the friend sat on the broken down bike while Mr A rode the second motorcycle, using his foot to push the first bike along. After about 100 metres, the leading motorbike braked and slowed to avoid a parked pickup truck at the roadside. The unexpected deceleration caused Mr A’s foot to slip into the spinning rear chain and sprocket mechanism of the bike he was pushing, resulting in the injuries. I've done a zillion dumb things but didn't get my toes chopped off. If I did, no way I'd be here today commenting on stuff like this. This is life-changing stuff. Relationships just got harder. Imagine if this was your son. ok, today I learned 24 is the new 10 years old. 24 really is just starting out in life. ok, today I learned I'm a dad. 1
KhunBENQ Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Not a bad idea to have the chain encased like my cheap Honda Wave. I had some minor incidents by slipping from the kickstarter or hitting the stand. But that's it.

I do think you need some luck when drunk and stupid. Just talked to a farang who crashed his motorbike while being drunk and stupid while in Thailand. Hurt for weeks. He's fine now. So, a little luck. There are levels to this. 1
