Bangkok tailor

It's impossible for me and I suspect for others to rate the very large number of Bangkok tailors, mostly run by people of Indian descent.It's many years since I have needed their services.

 

The reason I ask is that an English friend visiting Bangkok next month has asked me to recommend a tailor that could produce a suit that was as close as possible to a traditional Savile Row model.I think that means high quality material, attention to detail and multiple fittings.My friend is late 60's and former army officer so don't think he is looking for other than a traditional cut.I've had one recommendation (Dinos near that Korean complex by Soi 12 Sukhumvit) but I'm uncertain if still in business.Any suggestions gratefully received.I dont think price is a major issue if product is good.

I can recommend ANS tailors.  They have two locations in Bangkok.  The one with which I dealt was located in All Season Place on Wireless Road. Quality materials, excellent and responsive service, quite recommended.

If Rajah's is still open and making suits, they made suits for me for over 25 years, and also for many visiting US politicians at all levels.  Once a customer, one became a customer for life.  They also used to sponsor a golf tournment each year.  I knew Bobby Rajah from the time he was a 5-Year old and I still have some of their suits and they remain like new.  He learned how to treat customers from his dad and he is a great salesman!

Majestic Tailors do nice work, as does Jass Fashions at a lower price point. 

 

The important thing is to make sure he knows what he wants before he shops. Have pictures of the exact style you want.
