I'm sorry: I'm not so much old to remember those distant times.

But I'm glad you made it this far.

You seem to be living in LaLa Land as you are posting an article that says the Dollar had the worst "start" since 1973, however, your thread originally claimed that the US Dollar had made "a new low". Which of course was not the case.

The article does not prove you right. You're still wrong. The dollar was far, FAR, lower in 2008.

In addition of course you don't provide proper context which would have required you to point out that the Dollar has been on one of the most massive appreciation runs in recent memory just before its recent correction.

And in fact that the current drop of the Dollar is by DESGIN as the current administration wants the Dollar to depreciate.

This is global markets letting the US know what it thinks of the current government and management of its economy. The obscene budget bill that takes from the poor and gives to the rich part of the equation. Three and a bit more years of dollar falling to come. Trump is a master of bankrupting his businesses.

So, you know nothing of the bill, and you're not from the US.

You obviously don't know what income brackets pay most of the taxes in the USA.   It's not the poor.

... "Most of the government’s federal income tax revenue comes from the nation’s top income earners. In 2022, the top 5% of earners — people with incomes $261,591 and above — collectively paid over $1.3 trillion in income taxes, or about 61% of the national total.

If you include the top 10% — everyone who made at least $178,611 — that figure rises to $1.5 trillion, or 72% of the total.

The top 50% of earners contributed 97% of federal income tax revenue."

I'll translate that for you ... 50% of lower income earners, only paid 3%

Again, the Dollar was on a massive bulll run not so long ago, it is only to be expected that it went down, especially with a president hell-bent on a lower US Dollar.

So you repeated this now a few times.

Would you mind and tell us when exactly this bull run was?

Not if 'Made in USA',   But if 'product of USA', then possibly suspect of using ingredients from CH.

Also depends where Heinz is being produced at.  Many US companies have factories outside of the USA.   Many of the USA brands are produced out of the USA, some are not even owned by US companies.  Just subsidiaries of non USA companies, and may only have a HQ, or not, in the USA, for optics.

Ms Google ... "Kraft Heinz has a significant presence in Asia, with its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore. They have 12 manufacturing plants across Southeast Asia, Greater China, and Australia" ,,,

You may prefer Fox News Poll, I guess! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

By a 21-point margin, voters questioned in the most recent Fox News national poll opposed the federal budget legislation (38% favored vs. 59% opposed), which passed by the House of Representatives by just one vote last month.

That's not too surprising, since 50% of income earners pay little to no income tax, and don't want to give up their free sh!t.   Or simply listen to fake MSM, and believe all the lies ... IMHO

Most people with an opinion, haven't read the bill ... but OMG, did you hear what's in it :cheesy:

Irrelevant, as they will cower & comply to the whims of the corrupt 535, who represent their own interest, but, get reelected by those that don't agree with what they are doing, or how things are.

Go figure ... :cheesy:

I've already shown when it was. Just look at the chart I posted. Up until Dec 2024 the USD was well over 100 at 108.

This is the dollar performance during the Biden presidency. Not that this makes of him a good president. He wasn't and I am glad he was sent to a retirement house. But good for the dollar he was.

From your link: "Views of the legislation are highly partisan, with Republicans favoring it (73%)"

Oh boo hoo, the left wants higher taxes on the middle class.

You have to marvel at the idioticy of Trump haters, who think  that showing that the dollar is going down somehow proves Trump is a bad president, when in fact his whole objective is to lower the value of the US Dollar. So it's going exactly where Trump wanted it to go.

Some might say that's quite competent.

The $ index is now still just above the recent historical average but you can see that just after the the GFC it was down to 70.

Yes, it's descending. Trump said he wanted both a lower dollar and low USD interest rates - this will make debt interest payments easier.

So the USD is set to decline further. Yes, the Swissie is about the strongest paper money right now - I wish I still had some.

Concerning the Swiss Franc versus the US$.

In 1965 I had to pay 4 Swiss Francs for 1 Dollar.

In 1978 I had to pay 1,65 Swiss Francs for 1 Dollar.

Today I pay 0,79 Francs for 1 Dollar.

Anymore questions?

Yes. How much in 1969?
