What's your personality type? My guess is Jordan Peterson. Apart from politics you are very similar. You should read his books to understand yourself better.

I don't need to read anything to know myself. I'm an individual. That I believe in things others do doesn't mean I'm like them in any other ways.

I've read books and articles by many different psychologists and only decide what's right or wrong when there are more that come up with the same assessments that they do, and then I make my own decision. Many people look at Dr. Phil as an expert and I've watched his show many, many times. Everything he has said or given advice for I already knew from years of reading up other authors and seeing things for myself. He's more of a media star than anything else.

I read a few books by Aaron Beck, the father of cognitive behavior, "Love is Never Enough", and two on Cognitive Therapy, which shows a lot of how people think and how to change negative thought patterns.

You sound very much like JP apart from politics. You both believe in god. You are both well read. You both care about diet and fitness. You are both deep thinkers. You both have big egos. You both seek meaningful goals and purpose. You both hate admitting to being wrong. You are both seeking quality. You both are looking for relationships beyond the surface level.

Sadghuru for example is the opposite.

What are the key principles in his book?

Yes but behaviour is not that unique. There's not 8bn personality types. There are only a limited number.

Happiness comes from within so studying your own personality type helps life get better.

Most people don't even know who they are.

There are 16 personality types. Mine is a combination but mainly Commander.

I don't habe a big ego and besides my accomplishments in the gym, have been humbled long ago by father time. I never competed even though I could have, as it meant little to me. I always admit when I'm wrong as that's the only way to grow.

Different websites say different numbers. But 12 to 18 is about right. Authors writing about life say more about themselves than the outside world. Reading a book from a similar type and a direct opposite type is a good idea cause you can see the different aspects of thought. You should read Sadghuru and JP.

People who say they don't have a big ego usually have a big ego.

Stopping automatic negativity. Going by what you learned as a child growing up, as they are the most important years of our lives. And stop having negative assumptions before seeing the evidence.

People who know themselves and want to be the best they can be, look to improving themselves so they can help others around them. Having good self esteem isn't the same as having a huge ego, like Donald Trump has which in reality shows a little boy that needs control to feel better about themselves.

Sadghuru says thoughts are like clouds. He says let a negative thought pass as it does not mean anything unless you cling to it and attach emotion to it. Tolle says spend more time enjoying the day and think less about the past or future as the brain is wired in a negative fashion due to primitive beginnings of survival. Do more, think less. Dale Carnegie says the same.

Oh dear, 11 thumbs down on your OP now? That’s just incomprehensible. You’re such a visionary, yet tragically misunderstood by the unwashed masses. How can people be so heartless? It must be soul-crushing for you and your ego, Susan. Truly, I can’t fathom how anyone could fail to appreciate your breathtaking contributions. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this darkest of hours.

Trump is very insecure with a big ego. But he is a great speaker. He's a shallow thinker but he knows how to trigger people into action. He uses fear and emotion to motivate people. People are driven by fear and emotion unless they are deep thinkers. Most people are not deep thinkers. Kamala does not have a clue how to motivate people. Most lawyers don't. Lawyers are readers not people persons. Walz is a people pleaser but not a motivator. Kamala picked a mutton dish as VP and told people it was lamb. Vance is very crafty. Vance hides behind other people. I could tell 12 months ago who was going to win based on personality types. Same with Hillary. She has no people skills and hide behind gender the whole time. Her campaign was pathetic.

"Pathetic", 75,000,000 vs 77,000,000 votes is pathetic, for someone thrown in at the deep end............

:cheesy::cheesy:

Now, someone who needs loads of usernames on here, actually is 'pathetic', ol' chum....:cheesy:

Yep, waste of time

Things that are completely out of your control are a waste of time worrying about.

But anyone who doesn't worry about anything on a micro level usually has a pretty difficult life.

Rather ironic you mention whingeing :cheesy:

Yes things under your control should be the focus.

No, you hide behind long posts to protect your ego. Some people hide behind people, some hide behind alcohol, some drugs, some sporting talent. Some people are blunt and honest. Some hide behind the gym. Everyone has habits and traits. Once you know how to read people you see these traits repeated.

You tell people you know lots about Thailand yet I knew before asking you knew stuff all about CM, Udon, KK and Lanna food even before asking. The only dish you know is Khao Soi.

Of course you will say every city is same same. I predicted all your responses before you typed them cause I can read people.

So you got a promotion to be the forum thought police ? You are one of the last people to judge anyone on the forum.

A good reference of the forum. Life of Brian lives inside us. Our lives is Monty Python.
