If you exclude Ford which produces in Thailand, who will buy a car produced in the US with left-hand drive?

What US rice imports are there to drop tariffs on? Any chance you could show us how many tonnes of US rice is currently imported into Thailand and what the tariff rate is? My understanding is ZERO US rice comes into Thailand. Selling ice to the Eskimos.

Seems it's not zero..........🤔

Fair enough. Not zero but close enough and only used in processed food. Not something I would imagine to be top of the tariff list.

Hard to ignore when your economy goes belly up because the richest nation by far stops buying your products

It was meant as an example of how just dropping all tariffs could for some sectors be economically disastrous.

Get it now, buddy?

Japan has already told him no, in no uncertain terms. You have obviously never been to China, so rant on.

China just announced it is negotiating free trade with Asean nations, leaving US in their rearview mirror.

A lot of that comes from Mexico, under NAFTA. Another treaty that dear leader is undermining to the detriment of the US. Trump still has no tariff authority.

Mark my words, this is the beginning of the end, and Trump will do irreparable damage that will last decades.

BRICS was formed in 2009 when Barack Obama was President. It was formed as a coalition to compete with US "hegemony."

You need to do some basic research before posting. Or blame Obama - up to you.

What does Brics mean and who are the new members?

In 2006, Brazil, Russia, India and China created the "Bric" group. South Africa joined in 2010, making it "Brics".

The group was designed to bring together the world's most important developing countries, to challenge the political and economic power of the wealthier nations of North America and Western Europe.

Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were invited to become members with effect from 1 January 2024.

Punishing who? The tariffs are not paid by the countries the US is importing goods and services from, they add to the cost of what the American consumer pays for them.

The US has a positive trade balance with Australia. That means America sells more goods and services than it imports from Australia. What's that, the floggings will continue until morale improves?

Now consider blood products and plasma made by CSL in Australia. The US market is worth $1.4 billion. Big Pharma in the US wants a 200% tariff applied to these products.

This means patients in emergency departments and hospitals in America will be paying 200% more for life-saving transfusions, and blood products used to treat auto-immune diseases. CSL is also a major supplier of flu vaccines.

Fact: Medications in America are 3-4 times more expensive than most developed countries. Isn't your medical system <deleted> enough already?

The whole tariff orchestra reminds me of a gorilla trying to play a violin.

Well I guess Trump can stop supplying arms to Ukraine and stop all support for NATO then. Let's see how that goes.

Neither of which are particularly relevant to tariffs on Thailand!

That said however, Ukraine is coming to realise how unreliable an ally Trumps America is, and NATO has already hoisted in that if it comes to a war with Russia over, let us say the Baltic states, America will opt out. That is rather factored in to the contingency plans.

Wrong. BRICS is here to stay, they already represent over half the world's population and a considerable amount of GDP. It's about time they find an alternative to the dollar dominance, and Trump is pretty much forcing a lot of countries to do so, with his stunning levels of arrogance, ignorance, self-importance, self-righteousness, and bullying.

Many will say no thanks. We really don't need you, you are  not nearly as important as you think, you are becoming more irrelevant and diminished by the day, and it gives us a great amount of joy and pleasure to say no to you, you ignorant freak.

I certainly never implied that BRICS was formed as a result of Trump, however they are getting stronger as a result of Trump and America is getting less relevant.

I was raised to believe that criticism within a democracy was one of the great reasons to have a democracy, if you're averse to criticism perhaps Russia or North Korea, or even China is a better choice to live.

Or is it simply partisan criticism that you object to? I don't like my president so I hate my country. Ooh, that's very sophisticated reasoning.

Yet again I ask

"just because a statement is anti Trump why is it taken to mean anti USA/Republicans etc"!

It means what it says "ANTI TRUMP" NOT anti USA or anything else, just anti TRUMP!

I am talking about Australia because it has been America's most loyal ally, and it is being treated like sh!t.

The USA is not Australia's most important trading partner. China is.

IMO I am not alone in thinking America is not worth p!ssing on as an ally. It has cut and run in every conflict since Vietnam.
