The right does not like late shows. It's full of humour and they do not seem to understand fun/laughter.

Like people running around looking like syringes and saying people that didn't get jabbed were bad people type humour.

  • If press were required to always provide truth, it would be the end of Fox and all of those far right Alex Jones type. I didn't see the interview, but if CBS wanted to edit the piece, they could

  • bingo another blow to freedom of speech.

  • Hope you don't mind me adding to your above post. No ratings, no advertising, monotonous, boring, preachy, condescending, radical woke left propaganda.

It’s because of his criticism of Israel. This is not allowed in the USA

I doubt it. This was weeks ago. Announcing the decision a day, or so after he criticised Paramount, talking of "bribes", etc., however, did it...

You see everything through your narrow tunnel vision. Real life is not that black.and white.

If you are American, take your head out the US propaganda.

CBS is owned by Paramount, who cancelled others for pro- Palestinian views :-

Melissa Barrera, starring in Scream VII, was fired from the project—reportedly due to her public support for Palestinians.

May Callamwy had her scenes removed from Gladiator 2for her political views!!

These incidents are part of a broader pattern where pro-Palestinian public figures have faced reprisals in Hollywood projects associated with Paramount.

So why not one more?

Late night died with Leno stopping. Jay's garage was good though.

Conan too boring and a bit center-left.

I don't know if any of these lefty creeps are still out there like

Kimmel, Fallon , Seth Meyers . Luckily Colbert is nearly out.

A blow for the lefty narative.

And a blow for all the lefty holliwood "stars" .

Guess they have to use only X or tiktok or instagram.

Kimmel, Fallon and Meyers are still hanging on.   At 1130 or 1230 the last thing I want to hear is politics or the host political viewpoint. I just want an hour of laughs and interesting guest. I guess not anymore.

I keep seeing all over social media loads of controversy about him lately. Seems a lot of hate directed towards him.

What's happened ?

Went from being a popular late night comedian to a sufferer of you-know-what which made him spew hateful misinformation to a dwindling yet eager crowd of fellow afflicted. Was always going to end in tears.

First of all, you have no proof of your allegations.

Secondly, your logic is very weak to suggest that because it has happened before, it has happened this time.

If I was on trial, I would horrified to have people who think as you do be on my jury.

You have every right of course to hold pro Palestinian, anti Israel, and evidenced by a previous post of yours anti Jewish views, but that doesn't mean that everything bad that happens in the world is related to your particular passions.

After hearing him call out the heads of CBS so vehemently for caving in, I knew it was just a matter of time.

That couldn't have helped. Maybe he thought the good ratings for his show made him teflon. Oh well!

Maybe freedom of the press doesn't mean editing out Harris' totally inarticulate response with a more rehearsed articulate version during the Presidential campaign interview on 60 minutes.

Can't wait to see Trump do a bit about Colbert.

Particularly as it's widely believed that Paramount's settlement of 16 million with Trump had a lot to do with the cancellation of Colbert.

If Trump doesn't gloat, he must be very busy.

Trump's coercion using lawsuit is a form of censorship no different from Russia's censorship on Ukraine war coverage. 1st amendment is under threat.

You mean that late-night talk show ear worm masquerading as political satire? Most Repugnicans wouldn't know satire if it kicked them in the nuts and it's most certainly lost on the CiC of Narcism.

Hardly. CBS news had two versions of an interview with Kamala, one where they edited her word salad answer to shield her from backlash.

Major news outlets pandering to one candidate and attempting to bend over backwards to portray her in a favourable light meant the entire democratic process was under threat due to CBS doctoring their interviews to make Kamala look more favourable.

This lawsuit was well deserved and is very beneficial for the democratic process as it shows that mainstream news shows can't favour one candidate unduly, as CBS did with Kamala, by editing her interview.

CBS was coercing the democratic process so to speak.

I would wager that the team of lawyers who fought and won his Paramount suit have already retained another legal team to handle the blowback when he inevitably opens his gloating, narcissistic yap.

Not to worry, as the US taxpayers will be picking up the presidential tab, eventually.

Fox had their fair share of editing Trump's interviews. Here is one.

I wonder what Colbert will do now.

Grow a long beard like Letterman?

A new show on another network?

Podcast/youtube?

He is hot commodity and well known. Media companies will make a beeline for him. Could be netflex like Letterman or back to the Daily Show. He has a wide field to choose. Even as a freelancer, he will have no problem finding work. It is CBS lost to cancel his show.

Very few guys have what it takes to do it day in and day out.  Carson and Leno and Letterman come to mind.  (no women, though- maybe Joan Rivers...)  Most of them are a flash in the pan, good for a special, maybe once a month or so.  Then they have to go work on their shtick for the next special.

It died when Jonny Carson retired!

These people on the late night shows

regurgitate their leftists  producers leanings!

The only time i watched this guy is during his Kharris interview during  the Summer of love riots ,saying BLM protesters shouldn’t stop!

The late nite shows are platforms for propaganda, and leftist bias. They / them don’t have the will  to take on Law suits , because of their chaotic rhetoric.

It probably didn't help that he was being beaten soundly by someone as abrasive as Fox's Gutfeld.  That's gotta sting.

Not just producers . They get their lefty talking points from higher up,

then all the writers make the insinuendo and jokes. Behind all those hosts are many writers.

I thought Jay Leno was balanced , even on NBC.

But looking back some shows I've kept of Leno , Ferguson and Conan,

I see the centre/lefty bias that I didn't see 10 years ago or more.

(I never liked Letterman).

But they are nothing compared to those 3 (fallon/colbert/kimmel).

He hates Trump, he satirizes him constantly, he is quite funny, and Trump has no sense of humor. He has never has had one. He despises anyone who makes fun of him and unfortunately a lot of his followers don't have much humor either when it comes to criticism of their master, so that's all kind of a perfect storm.

My guess is that this is politically motivated. He's been making $15 million a year and it's worth nearly $100 million, so maybe it's time for him to take it easy. It's all good, the universe is in a constant state of flux, so why shouldn't that change too?

If Trump doesn't gloat, he must be very busy.

That would be quite difficult because Trump does not have a sense of humor, he has the ability to hurl insults he has the ability to call people names and be a bully and a bore, but he doesn't really have what most people would call a sense of humor. And he can't take a joke directed at him, due to his giant insecurities.

And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing - not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. His idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults - he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. The world does not.

Absolute nonsense. Political opponents in many countries outside the US have historically used the "sound bite" and the inopportune "off air" or "live mic" comment captured by mainstream media to their opponent's disadvantage. They've been doing this since forever already but suddenly it's verboten?

CBS coercing the democratic process my arse.

You are kidding. 60 minutes/CBS/Paramount. 60 minutes edited out Harris' inarticulate ramblings with something completely different got caught out and it's cost them $16 mil. How is this clutching at straws? As for Colbert he like all the other radical left propogandists and Trump haters has seen a big downturn in viewership.
