Have you tried Pizza hut?

Pizza Hut in Thailand is not the same as Pizza Hut in the USA. The Thai version seems to copy Pizza Company. Just my observation, I don't intend to argue the point. National chains always seem to have the worst pizza.

Other way around. Pizza Company was born out of Pizza Hut here.

In Italy, the pizza dough base is thin and light. The  "pie" is constructed to allow the ingredient flavours to be appreciated. Pizza Hut Thailand is distinguished by its oil run off and overbearing saltiness. Pizza Company has improved over the years, but I still use paper towels to soak up the oil and grease and add my own chopped bell pepper to supplement the miserly portions in the product (despite ordering double serving of peppers). I have a Pizza Company item once a year.  The excess oil reflects the lower quality of processed cheese product and processed "meat" used.  We have been programmed to accept high sodium, high fat content.

I dont' know why Domino's got such a bad rap, quite good pizza.

Pizza Hut now also do artesan Napoli style pizza.

Domino's in BKK is pretty dire compared to their offerings in the UK (which I like) and no cheaper. The one in Hanoi was OK tho.

My go to for authentic pizza in BKK since 2017 been Pizza Mania (run by US expat I believe) but I've read they may have changed ownership. Last few I had weren't as good as I remember.

Right. Birth. Allow me to try to explain something. No two people are alike. I’m not a pizza lover, but I’ve started loving the Thai kebab from our local Thai market. After ten pieces, you get one for free. No, it’s not a punch card—it looks more like pink lottery tickets to me. It’s more than a loyalty program; it’s an invitation to become part of the community, to come back, to belong. It’s full experience management, Thai-style.

Food is a vehicle for connection, for belonging, for those “full experience” moments that linger long after the meal is gone.

This is very different from my popular Turkish friend, who owns a few food trucks in the south of The Netherlands and still makes his own bread. It’s kind of beautiful, isn’t it? Food travels, gets re-mixed, and ends up reflecting the place and the people making it. I like the Turkish version better because it’s delivered with small talk—a little small talk always makes my meals taste better!

No matter how hard you try, you can’t deny the proven success of Pizza Company. Still, I miss those little moments that made my friend’s Turkish kebab so memorable. So here I am, trying to find and enjoy my other moments.

i remember mid of the 90's an Italian guy opened the first Pizzeria in Hua Hin.

In the US, right? You know that pizza comes from Italy...

Pizza restaurants worldwide have pineapple on the menu. Not all of them but most. Yes, I know pizza came from Naples,Italy. I didn't think it was invented in  Mongolia.

I just remember Domino's from Grand Cayman, it was one of the best on the island. I've never had it in Thailand. I do know for a fact that Pizza Hut has far worse pizzas in Thailand than in the West. No idea why. Tried it once in Thailand, couldn't eat it.

Lousy crust + lousy sauce.

That is the whole of my PC review.

I only ate there once, hanging out with another expat.  I think he brought us there for a laugh, the little rat.

The last time I orrdered from Pizza Company the seafood pizza had 1000 Island dressing as the sauce. Since then never again.

Similar to my first (and ONLY) Pizza Company order. Then, I watched in horror as the Thai woman I was with dumped KETCHUP all over hers. Absolute culinary blasphemy.

I have always wondered how and why an expat on this forum could live in a 28 square meter box in Thailand. Now I know why.

Yea, I need a full kitchen myself.   Not saying I couldn't live out of one of those boxes, especially with some of the amenities that come with them, but living on restaurant & fast food would be a challenge.

It would also require living in a more congested area, than what I'd want.   Where I am now, if only owning a scooter, be impossible for me to live out of restaurants, as too limited here.  BKK, another metro or Patts would be easier to.

I'd probably have the NY Style Pizza 2X a month instead of one :cheesy:

Always on topic.

You PC haters, need to sample their NY Style, then get back to us.

Neapolitan pizza came from Naples.  🙂 Pizza Margherita originated in Napoli. But there was pizza long before that. First published mention of it from a place in Lazio. I guess not many here will have sampled a Tiella di Gaeta.

As aforementioned. food travels and adapts according to the available ingredients. The issue is the quality of those ingredients.

OK, I am a little confused. Are you talking about NY style pizza in general or is there a shop named NY Style Pizza 2X ? Thanks.

@KhunLA, looking at the picture of a NY style pizza that you posted 21 hours ago, I would happily decline.

I would class that as junk food. Low quality of ingredient.

That's not to say that it might not be to anyone's taste.

It looks as cardboard as the box it came in. No thank you.

On topic ...

Pizza Co offers a NY Style pizza (photo posted) that is quite good.

Not so much On Topic ... so stop now, as you'll never get that time back.

If living out of one of those 30 ish m² boxes, I'd probably have 2 times a month, instead of our usual once a month.  Especially when 2 for 1, as we usually eat one, then have a couple snacks next couple days.  If single, one 2/1 order would last  as one daily small meal during almost the whole week.

Throw in a KFC Zinger every other Tuesday, like yesterday, since KFC & Swensen's in the same building.  Hard to pass up 2 for 1 scoops on Tuesdays.  Hit Swensen's almost weekly, and actually stopped making ice cream at home.

Pretty much the same with pizza, as do a nice one myself, but not worth the hassle, or even the cost, when 2 for 1 is on offer.  Two 12" Double Pepperoni Pizzas for ฿399.  Try to make that at home for the same price.

Living in a congested area, probably wouldn't even need 7-11, except for some pre made meals as a snack, when too lazy to go out after dark.  Not the toasties, but meals, quite consistent, tasty enough, never over spicy, over salted or too sweet.   Can't say that same about ma / pa shops consistency.

I rarely do street food, though a 5 Star roasted chicken would also be on the menu, almost weekly.  A few 'John's Salads', and maybe a Double Whopper a couple times a month.

Rest would be Thai food, curries, som tam, Khao Soi, Crispy Pork Belly, as some of my favorites.  Medium frig, microwave & air fryer, round out any other munching in house, especially breakfast.  Something I don't go out to eat.

LIVING THE DREAM :cheesy:

Except, i have no desire to live at BKK, any metro, or Patts.   ALTHOUGH, if I couldn't own my home, and living out of a box, wouldn't have much choice.   Or back to USA, and play nomadic tourist, living out of my RV van :coffee1:

I'm flexible.

I'm really lucky that I don't have to search for a good pizza. Of course, many can say now - nah - too much - too small - too thick etc.pp.

Making pizza yourself is not rocket science. Of course you need the oven (gas, electric or even wood fired). But if you calculate once how much you spend on Restaurant pizzas - the oven is soon amortized.

You're lucky. We've had pizzas arrive that were dripping in thousand island salad dressing or some horrid yellow concoction instead of red pizza sauce.

That would be because that was what you ordered.

I love Durian ... but hot, nah, that doesn't sound good at all.   And on a big piece of bread, even worse.

pineapple on Hawaiian pizza I have seen, don't like it. But here they put it on almost every pizza, and even if you tell them not to add it when you order,

No, they do not, it only goes on certain pizzas and certainly not is you ask for it to be deleted.
