An interesting case now from Pattaya Police Station which occurred late on Wednesday Night. Police Captain Prasert from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Central Festival Center in North Pattaya after a shop owner had detained an Italian Man and his Thai Girlfriend after they attempted to pay for items using fake bank notes. Mr. David Bertini aged 38 from Italy and his girlfriend were taken to the Stationhouse.

There were some initial language problems as Mr. Bertini could not speak any English, however he was found to be carrying ten 1,000 Baht notes and one 500 Baht note which appeared to have been photocopied and cut up into separate notes. He claims that these poor copies were given to him at a Siam Commercial Bank Foreign Exchange Counter. He produced a receipt from the Bank, however Police do not believe his story and are in the process of prosecuting the Italian man.

Photo copied notes. Incredible and brave.

Photo copied notes. Incredible and brave.

He's Italian - how can you use the word 'brave'?

Incredible - yes

Stupid - yes

Arrogant - yes

Conned by his g/f - probably

Brave - never

Tis a pity.

I am afraid this man didn't get the memo about quality tourists. Probably the language barrier.
