Karaoke Bar Owner Stabbed To Death – No One Helps

Featured Replies

Karaoke bar owner, Pradit Wongsoongnern, also known as “Sia Sanya,” has died from stab wounds inflicted by a cruel teenager. The attack against Pradit, a former café singer, occurred while he was drinking with friends at a snooker club.

Pradit’s death occurred on 10 August 2007, at approximately 3:45 a.m. Police Lieutenant Ormsin Suk-Garnka, Pattaya investigative unit, was notified that Pradit, the owner of Krua Sanya restaurant and Karaoke, had been stabbed and severely injured. The incident took place at a snooker club, located at 150/59, behind a night market in Soi 17, South Pattaya.

Pradit, age 51, a well known singer at a café in Pattaya, had been stabbed more than 10 times. The crime had taken place at a marble table where Pradit had been drinking with friends. Blood stains were evident from the marble table to a snooker table, the area where Pradit struggled to defend himself against the attack.

Police questioned the owner of the snooker club, Posaporn Bunasuwan, age 49. He told police that Pradit was an attractive guy who owned a restaurant and used to be a café singer at a Café. According to Posaporn, he had two wives, the first wife, who lived with him at the restaurant, and a second wife who resided near Wat Chaimongkol. The second wife runs a laundry shop and also lends money. Posaporn stated that the two wives are not very fond of each other.

Posaporn reported to police that Pradit came by to his snooker club and asked him to join him in drinking whisky at the marble table in front of the club. During their conversation, Pradit complained that he had been trying to collect money on one of his second wife’s loans, but he had not been successful.

As the two men talked, two guys, in the age range 20-25 years old, appeared unexpectedly. Posaporn said that they arrived on a black and gray Honda motorbike with no license plate. The guy who had sat on the back seat came toward Pradit, pulling out a 15 cm. knife and stabbing him. Pradit struggled to the snooker table, but the assailant pursued him there, continuing the stabbing. Sadly, no one came to his rescue, and the assailant got back on the motorbike and the rider who was waiting with the engine on sped away.

Following the attack, Posaporn and other friends helped to support the badly injured Pradit and called the police. Shortly thereafter, a police rescue team arrived at the scene and immediately took the severely wounded Pradit to Pattaya Memorial hospital. But he did not survive his wounds and passed away during transfer to the hospital.

Police are considering several motives in the case. One possibility is Pradit’s reputation as a ladies’ man, with two wives and girlfriends. Another is resentment on the part of debtors from whom he was attempting to collect money for his second wife. Police say they will question the witnesses and the two wives. They express hope that the case will proceed quickly and result in an arrest as soon as possible.
