My Thai wife has a Sole proprietership (Export Business) Actually we run it together, but it's in her name. All sales are concidered Income to her. She' going to pay tax on that income at 80% Deductable Expense and Tax payable on the 20% balance. That will mean a minimum of 240,000 baht Taxable income (Maybe more) added to her regular salary as a senior Accountant of 360,000 = Total yearly taxable income of approx. 600k Baht divided by 12 = Average monthly income of about 50,000 baht. At least this is what will appear on her Thai income tax form for 2007.

Will 'Income" as earned this way qualify to get my "O" Extension? Or is the income required by Immigration (40k / Month) concidered on her "SALARY ONLY"??? Do we need to pay her a monthly salary from the export business? She says that as a sole propietership all business income is considered to be persoanl income anyway, and paying a monthly salary is just a lot of un-necessary paperwork and filing.

Of course this means that I will have to exsist on 3 month Visas until Tax time, so she can file and pay all taxes owed.

Believe paying tax will take care of it but if she has help with accounting they may be able to confirm. Or have wife call government hotline at 1111 and ask for immigration - they should be able to confirm exact requirements (if you will use Bangkok).
