Banks, banks and banks again

Featured Replies

I read about people having problems with banks: I read about people having their accounts frozen without warning. But what if one day my account is frozen and I can't provide the documents needed to unfreeze it, what happens? Will they close it and give me back the remaining money? Can I ask them to close it and give me back the remaining money?

Depends, if they think you are a money launderer they will freeze it and not give it back

Sure, you can ask them.

Please post their answer here,  for us to have a good laugh.

For those who are able, keep the minimum in your bank account (less then 100k) and handle the rest in cash. You'll always get a better rate then any money transfer application.  Top up regularly if account is used for basic utilities payments etc. But never leave more as cash in king here and very safe to carry around, provided you are not the Sad Sack type to end up drunk in girlie bars and do not bring back prostitutes masseuses to your place every day. Of course for the long stayers more is needed for the visas so this would not aim to that category of foreigners.
