Ukraine is winning the war

I think Zakaria is correct.

However, Trump won't do this.

Why?

Two reasons -- for continued somewhat mysterious reasons Trump will never put pressure on Putin. Secondly, he's way too stupid and incompetent to do something so easy to do with a high probability of a success.

That's a real shame, but better off for Ukraine to face to reality of what Trump is and will always be.

This could be quite significant

Beans and bullets, you don't have to overwhelm the invaders, just cut the supply lines and let them wither

Units of the 337th Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces are withdrawing from the coastline of the spit after the Defense Forces cut off supply routes for the invaders.

“Due to significant losses of personnel, units of the 337th Regiment are withdrawing from the coastline – from the northern and western parts of the spit. Fire groups are unable to cope with the shooting down of UAVs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and losses continue to grow,” the message says.

Supplies to the spit have been completely stopped – the delivery of ammunition, fuel and food has stopped. Part of the personnel has been transferred to the Zaporizhia direction, the remaining units have actually lost combat capability, and re-equipment has not been carried out even once.

“The occupiers’ logistical system in this area has completely collapsed,” ATES concluded.

Note that the Kinburn Spit controls the entrance to the Dnipro-Buh estuary and the approaches to Mykolaiv and Kherson — its strategic importance for the region’s maritime logistics makes the occupiers’ retreat particularly significant.

Kremlin bloggers turn on Command as Ukraine’s deep strikes expose Russian weaknesses

Ukraine’s expanding long-range strike campaign is rattling Russia far beyond the front line, with prominent pro-Kremlin military bloggers openly questioning Moscow’s ability to defend critical infrastructure and sustain its war effort.

What was once grumbling on nationalist Telegram channels is rapidly turning into public frustration. As Ukrainian drones and missiles reach deeper into Russian-controlled territory, some of Moscow’s most vocal supporters are now directing their anger at the military leadership itself.

Air Defences Under Pressure

According to assessments highlighted by the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian strikes are increasingly targeting defence-industrial sites, logistics hubs and military infrastructure deep behind Russian lines.

One influential pro-war commentator and former Storm-Z instructor warned that Ukraine is systematically degrading Russian air defence systems and radar networks. He accused officials of allowing bureaucracy and internal rivalries to undermine the country's ability to respond effectively.

Logistics Network Starts to Fray

The criticism comes as reports emerge of mounting logistical problems in southern Ukraine. The ATESH partisan movement claims Russian troops have begun withdrawing from parts of the Kinburn Spit after supply routes collapsed under sustained Ukrainian pressure.

Without reliable deliveries of ammunition, fuel and food, frontline units were allegedly left isolated. Heavy losses and constant drone attacks further weakened their ability to maintain defensive positions.

Fuel Shortages Spread Beyond the Battlefield

The impact is now being felt away from the front. Reports of fuel restrictions in occupied Crimea have added to concerns that Ukraine’s campaign against supply networks is achieving broader strategic effects.

Military bloggers have warned that disrupted fuel deliveries are affecting both civilian life and military operations. The shortages have fuelled growing anxiety among residents and raised fresh questions about Russia’s ability to protect critical infrastructure.

Pressure Builds on Moscow’s Top Brass

The backlash is increasingly focused on senior commanders, including Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov. Nationalist commentators have criticised military leaders for failing to strike key Ukrainian transport links and for allowing strategic vulnerabilities to persist.

At the heart of the debate is a growing fear that Ukraine’s strategy is working. By targeting logistics, fuel supplies and military infrastructure simultaneously, Kyiv is seeking to make Russian positions harder to sustain and more costly to defend.

As battlefield pressure mounts and criticism grows louder, the Kremlin faces a new challenge: managing discontent from some of its own most committed supporters.

Ukraine hits deep as oil hub burns and Crimea rail link is struck

Ukraine has launched a sweeping overnight drone offensive across Russia and occupied Crimea, hitting key energy infrastructure and disrupting rail traffic in one of the most ambitious long-range strike campaigns of the war.

The attacks targeted oil facilities, logistics networks and transport links hundreds of miles from the front line, underlining Kyiv’s growing ability to impose costs deep inside territory controlled by Moscow.

Oil Infrastructure Engulfed in Flames

One of the most significant strikes hit the Grushovaya oil trans-shipment base near Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Images from the scene showed a huge column of smoke rising into the sky as emergency crews battled the blaze.

Russian authorities confirmed a fire at the facility and deployed more than 130 firefighters to contain it. The site is one of southern Russia’s major hubs for handling oil and petroleum products, making it a strategically important target.

Crimea Rail Network Thrown Into Chaos

The campaign also struck transport infrastructure in occupied Crimea. A Ukrainian drone reportedly hit a passenger train travelling from Moscow to Simferopol, killing a railway worker and injuring the driver.

Rail services across Crimea were temporarily halted as authorities evacuated passengers and scrambled replacement transport. The disruption highlights Ukraine’s increasing focus on military and logistical routes connecting occupied territories to mainland Russia.

Drone Swarm Stretches Russian Defences

Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed it intercepted 310 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, including Moscow, Crimea, the Black Sea and southern Russia.

The scale of the attack illustrates the mounting pressure on Russia’s air-defence network. Even where interceptions occur, the need to defend vast areas of territory is forcing Moscow to spread resources across an increasingly wide front.

Fuel Lifelines Under Sustained Attack

Ukraine also reported strikes on oil and fuel facilities in the Volgograd region and occupied Crimea, including sites used to support Russian military operations.

The campaign reflects Kyiv’s broader strategy of targeting fuel depots, energy infrastructure and logistics hubs to weaken Russia’s ability to sustain combat operations. Rather than focusing solely on the battlefield, Ukraine is increasingly aiming at the machinery that keeps the war running.

As fires burn and transport links face disruption, the message from Kyiv is becoming clearer: nowhere within Russia’s logistical network can be considered completely secure.

The Kremlin finally admits what we already know about the fuel shortages in Russia

The Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula has imposed restrictions on fuel and gasoline amid shortages caused by Ukrainian intermediate- and long-range strike campaigns.

The situation on the peninsula is now so dire that the governor of Sevastopol, the largest city in Crimea, Mikhail Razvozhayev, announced on Telegram that the authorities have imposed restrictions on how much gasoline and fuel citizens can buy.

The limit is set at 20 liters (5.28 US gallons) of fuel per week. This is a stark contrast to a May 29 post on Telegram from the Kremlin-appointed leader of Crimea, Sergei Aksjonov, where he said that residents would be allowed to buy 20 liters of fuel per day.

Ukraine Unleashes AI Drone Hunter to Take Down Russia’s Shahed Swarms

Screenshot (37).png

Ukraine is rapidly scaling up production of a new generation of autonomous interceptor drones designed to hunt and destroy Russian Shahed attack drones, marking a major shift in the air war as Kyiv races to counter relentless aerial bombardment.

The breakthrough system dramatically reduces the burden on operators, allowing drones to identify, track and intercept targets largely on their own — a capability Ukrainian officials say could transform air defence.

From Human Control to Machine Speed

According to Ukraine's Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, operators now only need to identify a target and authorise an attack.

After that, the interceptor takes over. The drone autonomously tracks its target, identifies the incoming Shahed and guides itself to the interception point without further human input. Officials say the technology automates around 95% of the engagement process.

Battlefield Trial Turns Into Fast-Track Deployment

The system has already been tested in combat conditions in the Kharkiv region, where it successfully intercepted hostile drones.

Backed by Ukraine's Brave1 defence innovation programme, developers moved from prototype to operational deployment in less than a year. In a war increasingly defined by speed and adaptation, that timeline reflects the urgency driving Ukraine's defence industry.

Cheap Drones, Expensive Problem for Moscow

The new interceptors offer a far cheaper alternative to traditional air defence missiles, which can cost vastly more than the drones they are trying to destroy.

Ukrainian officials say interceptor drones have already helped bring down around 1,500 Russian aerial targets. As Moscow continues launching mass drone attacks against cities and infrastructure, Kyiv is betting that low-cost autonomous systems can blunt the threat without exhausting valuable missile stocks.

The Arms Race Moves Up a Gear

The next challenge is already emerging. Russian forces are increasingly deploying faster jet-powered Shahed variants capable of reaching speeds of up to 600km/h.

In response, Ukrainian manufacturers are developing even more advanced interceptors designed specifically to counter high-speed threats. The result is a rapidly escalating technological contest in which software, autonomy and production capacity may prove as decisive as firepower itself.

Send a drone into a gas pipeline valve setting and voila, fire.

Normally in the west we set the valves in the line to 500psi, meaning once the pressure drops below 500 psi the upstream and downstream valves will automatically close, isolating the breach and allowing it to burn out.

Well, there is a very strong consensus now among credible analysts including many pro Z Russian fascist ones that Ukraine is now winning the war.

However, that doesn't predict the conclusion or what "winning" will actually look like for Ukraine.

I heard a comment today that made a lot of sense.

What's happening now isn't enough. For things to conclude well for Ukraine first both Putin needs to be gone AND the Russian economy really needs to fall apart.

Who knows about Putin, but sadly the Russian economy still has cards to play.

A general in charge of ammunition supplies for the Russian army has been killed in an attack in the Moscow region, officials said.

Damir Davydov, the head of the Russian defence ministry’s missile and artillery wing, was reportedly killed in a car explosion in Balashikha.

The explosion took place around 5.30am on Tuesday, when a BMW X3 exploded near Koldunova Street in Balashikha’s Aviatorov neighbourhood, with reports saying the driver was pulling out of a parking space.

Ukraine has not issued a comment on his death so far, though Kyiv has claimed responsibility for several attacks on Russian generals since the start of Vladimir Putin’s war.

Ukraine-Russia live: Moscow car bomb kills Putin’s ammunition chief

The number of affected regions has increased significantly in less than a week. On June 4, fuel shortages and restrictions had been reported in 15 Russian regions, while similar measures were also in place in six temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories: Crimea, Sevastopol, and the Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

A key factor behind the growing fuel deficit is a relentless wave of attacks on Russian oil refineries, which were hit 38 times between January and May 2026. Sixteen of those strikes occurred in May alone, the highest monthly total since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Data from OilX shows refinery utilization has fallen by 14% since the beginning of the year and remains approximately 20% below pre-war levels.

Good article in the Telegraph about the cutting off of Crimea by Ukrainian strikes on its supply lines.

Ukraine turns Russia’s land bridge into ‘highway of death’

Even without a single Ukrainian soldier setting foot back in Crimea, the strategic picture is shifting.

“As we’ve seen on land, while it’s been very difficult for Ukraine to claw back territory, they have been making progress, albeit slowly,” said Mr Reynolds.

“But if Crimea can be put in a position where Russia is unable to adequately supply it, then this becomes a serious bargaining chip in any future negotiations. This is a serious demonstration of Ukrainian capability.”

Fireball at Russian Chemical Plant as Drones Strike Deep Behind Front Lines

A major Russian chemical facility was engulfed in smoke and flames overnight after a reported drone strike, as Ukraine’s long-range campaign against strategic infrastructure showed no sign of slowing.

Eyewitness footage circulating online appeared to show a large fire burning at the Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, in Russia’s Tula region, following a wave of drone activity and explosions.

Night Attack Sparks Major Blaze

The first warning signs emerged shortly after midnight when regional authorities issued an alert about a potential drone attack.

Residents were urged to remain calm as air defence systems responded to the threat. Within hours, videos filmed from several kilometres away showed thick columns of smoke rising above the industrial site, with a bright glow from the fire visible against the night sky.

The scale of the blaze suggested significant damage, although Russian officials had not immediately provided details on the extent of the impact.

Strategic Infrastructure Under Pressure

The Azot plant is one of the region’s key industrial facilities and has previously been targeted during the war.

Its latest reported strike fits a broader pattern of attacks aimed at disrupting Russia’s industrial and logistical capacity far from the battlefield. As both sides seek to weaken supply chains and military support networks, critical infrastructure is increasingly becoming a target.

Railways and Occupied Territories Also Hit

The overnight operation appeared to stretch beyond Tula.

Open-source monitoring channels reported drone strikes against railway infrastructure in the Smolensk region, including near the city of Vyazma. Separate reports also pointed to attacks on a locomotive depot in occupied Ilovaisk, a key rail hub in the Donetsk region that has been under Russian control since 2014.

If confirmed, the strikes would add further pressure to transport routes supporting military and industrial activity.

Campaign Reaches Deeper Into Russia

The reported attack comes just days after claims that Ukrainian security services targeted the Tamanneftegas oil and gas terminal in southern Russia, a major hub for hydrocarbon exports.

Taken together, the incidents highlight the growing reach of Ukraine’s drone operations. As the war enters another grinding phase, the battle is increasingly being fought not only at the front line but deep inside the infrastructure networks that sustain Russia’s war effort.

You know banderites and ukrakophiles... It's kinda funny again because only thing you can do against facts is iterating "Putin this, Putin that", as the words "Putin" and "Russia" throughout the years were made by media and popculture something like a code word to cover up "The ukraine's" putrid evil acts, it's corruption and lies straight from Kiev's regime. You only forgot to add that "The ukraine" is fighting for our freedom and if they loose Putin become an Emperor of galaxy and send all of us to work in the mines on Pluto. Most of the people posting here are representing no critical, autonomous thinking, no urge to seek for the truth, only repeating poisonous cliches embedded in narrow minds by mass-hypnosis-media (which is nothing more than a tool for politicians) ans so called "experts". This way you support the true evil. The ukraine is a true enemy for our (at least Polish) economy, safety and identity.

According to reports, Ukrainian drone strikes hit the Kapotnya district refinery in Moscow, a critical facility that supplies almost half of the Russian capital’s daily oil consumption. The operation also targeted another oil installation in Krasnodar in southern Russia.

Authorities reportedly moved quickly to impose restrictions at petrol stations following the strike. Payment was accepted only in cash, while purchases for passenger vehicles were capped at 30 litres of fuel.

A large number of Russian troops stationed at observation centres and command posts across Russia were reportedly hit during the attack.

At the same time, Ukrainian drone units launched strikes against Russian military positions in occupied Donetsk.

Targets included a field artillery depot, a major supplies headquarters in the Kremenivka area, and a Russian drone depot in Mariupol.

Ukraine’s forces also struck what was described as a large concentration of Russian troops in the Ivanovo region of Bryansk inside the Russian Federation.
