BANGKOK - Dusit Thani is currently facing a tense family conflict, with its acting chairperson, Chanin Donavanik, claiming outsiders are poised to seize control. Chanin, a descendant of the company's founder, made a public statement revealing a boardroom battle with his sisters, Sinee Thienprasiddhi and Sunong Salirathavibhaga.

The dispute centres around an alleged attempt to oust Chanin from his position as director of Chanut and Children Co. Ltd., which holds the majority stake in Dusit Thani. According to Chanin, changes to governance rules after their mother's passing have stripped him of authority, barring approval of financial statements.

Chanin warned of new director proposals linked to Central Group, a formidable development partner and competitor. He claims this could shift power from knowledgeable family members to outsiders lacking experience in running Dusit Thani.

The success of the Dusit Residences project, which has achieved over 92% sales, intensifies the conflict. Chanin accuses his sisters of reneging on an earlier inheritance agreement, influenced by the development's profitability. Reports suggest discussions between his sisters and Central Group about increasing control over Dusit Thani.

Channelling his mother's vision for a prestigious Thai hotel brand, Chanin remains determined to prevent any unauthorised takeover attempts. He expressed an unyielding commitment to Dusit Thani, stating he would not abandon the company, even if removed from his current position.
