In the process of building a house, my builder's contract has expired and it was obvious he was having cash flow issues, pool is 5m by 2.5m by 1.6 deep at one end. its 65% tiled some pipes have been run to it, it looks like there yet to run and connect to 2 or 3 positions where the top step is, they had begun to dig a trench for these pipes but stopped around 2 months ago like the rest of the house.

 

Pump house has pipes coming up from beneath the slab and ive seen a series of blue pipes running along the fence from pump house to the pool before they cover it over, so im assuming most of the pipe work has been done even so its not an expensive operation, and im not particular concerned about it at this moment.

 

During a site meeting on Saturday this builder proposed that I fund with my cash the completion of the house build that he would continue to supervise then at the end I could deduct my costs to complete from his final payment, which will include close to 100k of extras, my first thought was to get rid of him and Finnish it off myself, and he could kiss my ass over the extras, but theres not that much to do to Finnish so I asked for a break down of where the costs are, we got the spread sheet today, there are a couple of questionable charges that needs to be clarified, but over all the figure he came up with isnt much, and really my partner works full time and most of these tradesmen dont speak English so its a headache that I can deal with if I have to but with his cost summary maybe I dont, going over his costs to complete there is no mention of the swimming pool pumps and filters and connection, so my question to those who have a pool what sort of money (ballpark) would be in a set of pool pumps etc that this guy has conveniently left out?  

 

 

Given your measurements are correct, it's around 20 k litres. So it is small system required.

Probably get away with a 450/500 mm filter & a 3/4 hp pump. (.5 kw)
