A Thai transwoman, identified as Choosak, has sparked controversy after a viral video captured her in a heated exchange with a Muslim woman on Bangkok's Airport Rail Link train. The incident, which took place on Friday, August 29, saw Choosak verbally attacking Madia, a fellow passenger, following a minor bag collision.

The video, shared widely on social media, shows Choosak threatening Madia with a shoe and hurling a series of insults, including derogatory remarks about her religion. Choosak accused Madia of having poor manners and dared her to press charges, claiming she could afford the fine for assault.

Madia, the target of the tirade, remained calm throughout, repeatedly apologising and trying to de-escalate the situation. The conflict reportedly arose when Madia's bag inadvertently touched Choosak’s bag, which was placed on an empty seat next to her.

Public outrage ensued, with many Thai netizens expressing solidarity with Madia. Critics condemned Choosak for her behaviour and for occupying a seat with her bag. The incident particularly angered the Muslim community due to the nature of the slurs used.

Choosak's uniform, identified as belonging to a shopping mall on Banthat Thong Road, Stadium One, led to her swift dismissal by her employer after public pressure mounted.

Despite calls for legal action, Madia visited Hua Mark Police Station on August 30, stating she sought only an apology to herself and the Muslim community, rather than legal punishment for Choosak. Demonstrating remarkable composure, Madia expressed sympathy for Choosak's situation after she lost her job and faced widespread online criticism.

"I feel sorry for her. Tomorrow she won’t be able to go to work anymore. I’m not really such a good person, I just don’t let my emotions take over," Madia reportedly said.

Police coordinated a meeting between the two later that day, but Choosak did not attend and subsequently blocked attempts at further contact.

The incident has led to others coming forward with allegations against Choosak. An app-based motorcycle rider claimed she cancelled a ride on arrival due to cost, opting for public transport instead. Additionally, a Thai boxer and a security guard accused Choosak of inappropriate behaviour in separate incidents.

The unfolding drama has sparked wider conversations on social etiquette and tolerance in public spaces. Many are urging a broader dialogue on respect and discrimination, particularly towards minority groups, in the hopes of fostering a more inclusive society.

Trans "woman".......oh vey.

And of course, as per usual, none of the rest of the onlooking cowards lift a finger or say a word to defend the poor (real) tiny woman from being attacked by this Sasquatch.

Disgusting.

Of course,  if you employ this kind of human your gonna get the unstable

So antisocial against Madia on social media.

With a name like Choosak, I think that's the only bag they'd have inadvertently touching theirs, after this...

Time for a cuppa.

"Trans Woman" is an insult to women! There is NOTHING about a Trans that reminds me of a woman!! Just a confused and screwed up mind!!😫

Are you saying you’ve never met a gatoey.

What nonsense. You may be bigoted to trans people but saying they don’t exist is insane.

Imaginary PMS....

So multiple reports of this person behaving erratically.  The recent church shooter in the US blamed the massacre partially on their marijuana use.  Perhaps a drug test is in order.

Katoy's gender is male, thats why they are called up for army selection

This uneducated pack like choosak is like the plague here in Thailand:coffee1:

You might be wrong "a person who was registered as male at birth but who lives and identifies as a woman; a transgender woman."

Are the Katoeys still on 6/1, I thought they went mainstream on 6 years ago?

What's your point, if you wish to identify as a badger, and live like a badger, the it's your life.

I simply pointed out the definition.

She???  She???? It’s a man FFS 🙈

All this shows that in today's world, you really need to catch any delicate or unpleasant situation on video and then name and shame to get justice. If not, it's your word against his/hers.

For a simple.police statement, this young lady has taken 8 friends/family along with her...read her facebook page and you will see the victim hood she is playing, she demands an apology for Islam...

I'm jealous.

I would never be able to gather 8 people to support me for anything.

If you insisted on it, no one would care as long as you continued to use the male bathroom.

Nice one MalcolmB - I think I'll have to dumb down the phonetic irony to reach a wider audience. And to think- you got a better reaction than me -

what a bummer.

My "cuppa" related, transitional sentence was a veritable open license for tea bag metaphor and connotation, and not a single soul cashed in.

What has this world come to ?
