Bangkok Metropolitan Police Division 5 has conducted an operation targeting a central Thailand drug trafficking network, arresting three key suspects and seizing cash, property, vehicles and other assets valued at over 13 million baht.

The raids were led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of Bangkok Metropolitan Police, alongside senior officers including Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Aermla and Pol. Maj. Gen. Witwat Chinkham. Police executed search warrants at three locations across Bangkok and Samut Sakhon.

At the first location, Supalai Veranda Rama 9, Bangkok, officers arrested Mr. Phubet Ajwichai under a warrant issued by the South Bangkok Criminal Court. He is charged with illegal possession and distribution of Category 2 narcotics (cocaine) for commercial purposes. Police also seized 5.15 grams of cocaine, 3.69 grams of ketamine, 22 ecstasy tablets, a gold necklace, watch and a Honda Forza motorcycle.

The second raid, at The Prow Rise Panthainorasingh project in Samut Sakhon, resulted in the arrest of Mr. Akkrit Yomsrikern, also wanted by the South Bangkok Criminal Court for cocaine distribution. Officers recovered a .38 calibre revolver with ammunition, 9mm bullets, and 80 blank cartridges. In addition, they seized a house and land worth 6 million baht, 2 million baht in cash, two cars worth 3.2 million baht, two motorcycles valued at 300,000 baht, gold jewellery worth 700,000 baht and luxury brand items worth 100,000 baht.

The third suspect, Mr. Nikom Satthapong, 40, was apprehended at his apartment in Grand View Apartment, Huai Khwang, Bangkok, also on charges of Category 2 drug distribution.

Investigations revealed that the suspects targeted teenagers and nightlife patrons across various entertainment venues. Mr. Akkrit allegedly managed finances and operations, while Mr. Phubet handled the drugs, and Mr. Nikom distributed them to customers. Police continue to expand the investigation to identify additional accomplices.
