Watched it Can't see a problem the Scams esposed like the happy ending massage. Cannabis shop owner admitting money is put in Brown Envelopes, Tourists ignored by police, check point farce at Full Moon. The Producers asked the Camera crew to film on Soi Cowboy which was granted but as soon as Bar owners saw a Camera Crew threatened them, where was the plod telling them they have permission to film. The backlash comes from the Thais filming what they dont want us to see. As they prefer to push the land of Smiles publicity.

Thailand has a serious human trafficking problem. The sex industry depends on it and the people who hire the prostitutes from the beer bars and massage parlors are part of it. The crime and drugs are all part of it too.

 

She never claimed to be a journalist. She was the presenter  for South Shore's documentary. How is that different than any other documentary narrator's role? 

 

 

Unfair comment. Zara McDermott has been making documentaries since 2020, with the first broadcast in Feb. 2021.She has handled difficult subjects in her previous documentaries.   She went into a government apprenticeship program after graduating from secondary school. Within the government she was trained as a civil servant, first in the environment ministry and then in the education ministry. Her strength is is in presentation and communicating with people, and that's what she was doing as the presenter in the  documentary. What do you think the narrator of a documentary  is supposed to do?  When Peter Coyote  narrates the historical documentaries for Ken Burns, he is doing do it as a noted voice actor and not as an historian.

 

 

Not really. That fellow really did not rebut any of the facts that were presented. He did rant about the BBC.  It was South Shore that produced the show. This is a former hotel clerk who lives upcountry and survives as a small wannabe farmer. It is difficult to take someone called "Naked Guru" seriously.

 

 

The production was focusing on the dark side of tourism. There are no positives to sexploitation and crime.

 

 

The nude photos that you refer to were taken when she was 14 years of age and were illegally leaked.

How much longer does she have to be  humiliated for a mistake made in her youth that did not hurt anyone else?

Many years ago the Australian authorities stated that more of their citizens die in Thailand than in any other overseas desination.

Permission to film in the street, to film inside a bar you need permission from the owner.

You see many filming on the streets with there phones so i presume they asked to film in a Bar.

All the BBC has achieved is to advertise Thailand's nightlife scene and tourist cities... which will just translate to even more visitors seeking the action.

Given that on the World stage Thailand is rarely considered news worthy for more than a heartbeat - this is just a sensationalist appeal to group loyal identity.

Partisan-driven apropos proposition usually outweighs nonpartisan views. 

 

In and out of a political context, given objective scrutiny.

 

This is the fundamental driver employed by media - including, and perfectly exampled in these forums.

 

On a brighter note : very little coverage on any of the main offending platforms - but still the hard-core deniers morphing the rhetoric into logical fallacy, pointing their fingers away, trying to justify their notional position to an audience of no-one. Ironically there are people trying to take a positionally adamant rhetoric and make it about London - Thais trying to make it about Cambodia.

 

Immediately, I can't take anyone with ridiculously plumped-out catfish lips seriously, regardless of the topic.

 

The truth is that outside of Thailand and it's followers - very few people give a <deleted> about this place.

Expats are not just limited to those with certain careers, educational levels or social standing.

It's the BBC, Biased Bullsh1t Communism, the paedophile protecters. They try to tax us, the citizens, to fund it. I haven't paid it for nearly 5 years!

He confirms 1) they completely edited his responses, so it looked like he said things he did not say 2) They lied about the nature of the docu 3) The made the influencers go on certain streets to make it look as if they found them there.

Not true. Holding a yellow book doesn’t ensure that the holder pays Thai entrance/ medical fees.
