But, but..river to the sea...genocide...blah blah...dribble dribble. Religion of peace strikes again. Poor United Kingdom....what have you done. Enoch Powell's prediction are coming to fruit

  • Nonsense. A result of Israeli actions in Gaza seems more likely.

  • There you have Hamas answer to the piece plan,

AI gave me this answer.

"Muslim leaders expressed shock and sadness over the Yom Kippur attack in Manchester, emphasizing solidarity with the Jewish community. They condemned the violence and called for unity, reaffirming their commitment to peace and safety for all. "

To this question.

"comments from Muslim leadership after yom kippur attack"

I think sources are thejc.com and times of Israel.

There was no war BEFORE the hostages were taken .

Israel surrendering just to get the hostages released will just cause more and bigger problems in future

There's been a war ever since the UN gave about half of Palestine to the Jews. Israel and the Palestinians have killed each other multiple times in their attempts to sieze or hold on to property.  Oct 7 was just the start of another chapter of that war.

Actions and demonstrations by pro-Palestinians which glorify or at least justify violence against Jews in Israel have created a social setting in which perpetrators like Jihad Al-Shamie believe they are doing the right thing.   I wonder if Al-Shamie and the three arrested in connection with the synagogue stabbing were members of Palestine Action or a similar group.

The concluding words of Netanyahu's reaction to the stabbing point to the solution:  "Weakness in the face of terrorism only brings more terrorism. Only strength and unity can defeat it."

to fight terror with violence/terror never worked. Only dumb people will hang on with his thinking.

How are you "not known to police" if you are out on bail?

Seems like you are trying to justify the attack.

Its wrong and unacceptable to murder innocent people .

The attacker is at fault and is in the wrong .

Doesn't matter why he carried out the attack, he is in the wrong for doing so

Interesting.

Thanks, that you changed your mind.

Of course it is unacceptable to murder innocent people in Gaza. Right.

The Jewish attacker is at fault and is in the wrong.

Doesn't matter why he carried out the attack, he is in the wrong for doing so . 👍👍👍

No idea but my feeling is the BBC is not exactly unbiased in their reporting.

Unbiased? The guy was either hit by a bullet or not whichever news channel you get it from.

He WAS killed by a Police bullet, through the door.

You could say this "war" (I prefer "conflict") started over 2,000 years ago if you believe the tale of Exodus in the Old Testament and the Torah, when the Jews who were fleeing slavery entered Canaan and took it over by force from the native people there, the Canaanites, who were ancestors of the present-day Palestinians. I prefer just going back to 1947 when the UN, in coordination with England, gave about half of the territory to the Jews.

We can disagree on just when this conflict started, but I expect we will not disagree that this conflict will not be resolved or ended anytime soon, regardless of the agreements reached on a hostage exchange and a ceasefire.  😞

   Its very simple .

There have been numerous wars in the region .

This current war began when war was declared on Oct 7 2023

That is likely  the answer. However, it would appear there isn't very effective communication between various police entities in the U.K.

Good point but I think that aspect will not change. Counter Terrorism Police are privy to sensitive information from the intelligence services which shouldn't really be shared with the average plod.

I was thinking of the other way round.  The "everyday" police hadn't kept the counter terrorism unit informed of Al-Sharpie's rape charge. In most countries, counter terrorism units are kept informed of all serious  crimes in case a pattern emerges which is associated with terrorism.

Another update:

UK synagogue attacker was under investigation for rape; his dad praised Hamas for Oct. 7

Jihad al-Shamie reportedly had other convictions but wasn’t on police anti-terrorism radar. Witness: He shouted, ‘This is what they get for killing our children,’ as he attacked

The terrorist who attacked a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur was on bail for alleged rape, UK media reported Friday, as resurfaced Facebook posts showed his father, who has condemned the attack, lauding the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023.

Recently watched this excellent interview with Peter Bleksley, an old school detective. He reckons that the security services are so overwhelmed with stopping potential attacks that it was only a matter of time.

I think if every brown rapist with a beard was referred to them, it could bring them to their knees.

He has convictions for other offences, but was not known to counter-terrorism police or Prevent, the Government's deradicalisation programme
