Authorities seized P850 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Bugallon, Pangasinan. The operation led to the arrest of a Chinese national known as alias "Monkey" and his Filipino driver alias "Gardo." The illegal drugs, estimated to weigh 125 kilograms, were found packed in plastic tea bags inside a van.

 

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collaborated with multiple law enforcement units for the entrapment along Olongapo-Bugallon Road. Arrested individuals will face charges for violating sections of Republic Act 9165, with possible life imprisonment and fines up to P10 million. This initiative received support from the PNP-Drug Enforcement Group, NICA, and the AFP Counterintelligence Group.

 

In a parallel operation, PDEA conducted another buy-bust in Barangay San Lorenzo, Bangui, Ilocos Norte. This led to the apprehension of alias "Jennifer" and alias "Edith," both considered high-value targets. Items seized included 1.02 grams of suspected shabu, mobile phones, and marked buy-bust money.

 

PDEA's concerted efforts aim to dismantle drug networks across regions, showcasing their ongoing commitment to fight illegal drugs. As these operations continue, PDEA reinforces its stance on stringent enforcement of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. The resolve to erode drug-related activities persists, with further operations anticipated as authorities aim to maintain momentum.
