New Bangkok Bank Annoyance

Featured Replies

Their newest weirdness is that when I use my debit card on Iherb and other international sites, instead of sending the required confirmation code via SMS to my registered phone number, I get a message that I have to send an SMS (which they note costs 3 baht) to Bangkok Bank to confirm it is a genuine purchase.  Of course the SMS they send does not contain the link to the number but it must be entered into my keypad.

And this means I have to start the payment process over, since Iherb sees it as a rejection of payment.

I'm surprised that anyone is still using their cards for online purchases. I gave up on that many years ago, and from reports on here, there has been problem after problem.

With Kasikorn Bank's cards, on the other hand, I've never had any problems. They even have an "online" card specifically for this purpose, and conveniently, you can configure a purchase limit for it separately from your physical card.
