Seventy individuals wanted by authorities were arrested in the Cordillera region during manhunt operations conducted from October 12 to 18. The operation was successful across various provinces, with the Baguio City Police Office apprehending 23 individuals, leading the count. They were followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office with 19 arrests, and Mountain Province and Kalinga provincial offices with nine and eight respectively.

The push for increased police visibility and active community cooperation contributed to a significant decline in crime. Throughout the week, 52 municipalities, including two police stations in Baguio City, reported no criminal activities. Specifically, 17 municipalities in Abra, 10 in Ifugao, eight each in Benguet and Mountain Province, six in Apayao, and three in Kalinga witnessed zero crime incidents, emphasizing the effectiveness of community and police partnerships.

The operations also highlighted impressive law enforcement efficiencies. The Police Regional Office-Cordillera reported a Crime Clearance Efficiency (CCE) rate of 84.06% and a Crime Solution Efficiency (CSE) rate of 78.26% during this period. These figures reflect the commitment of police officers in handling and resolving crimes promptly and effectively.

Moving forward, authorities plan to maintain heightened vigilance and community collaboration to sustain low crime levels. Continuing efforts include strategic deployment of personnel in high-risk areas and reinforcing community-based intelligence gathering to prevent future incidents.

Key Takeaways

  • Seventy arrests were made in Cordillera during Oct 12-18 operations.
  • Fifty-two municipalities reported zero crime incidents in the same week.
  • Law enforcement efficiency rates were high, with efforts attributed to both police and community cooperation.
