October 24, 2025Oct 24 Popular Post Photo courtesy of The Nation Thailand is being encouraged to aim for 45 to 60 million international tourists annually by 2030 to 2035, driven by strategies from Galaxy Resorts Thailand. Kevin Clayton, the chief brand officer, emphasized the need for Thailand to adapt to global tourism trends to remain competitive. Currently, the country expects about 33 million visitors this year, not yet reaching its pre-pandemic levels. Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister, Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, acknowledged the country's diminishing status as a top tourist destination. He called for a re-evaluation of current strategies. Clayton suggests that Thailand’s future success depends on providing unique experiences, alongside improved safety, seamless access, and smart marketing. Galaxy Resorts highlights the importance of public-private sector cooperation to evolve Thailand’s tourism offerings. Although the Thai government has paused plans for a legalised entertainment complex, Clayton mentioned integrated resorts with hotels, shopping, and venues as a transformative opportunity. These resorts, already successful in places like Japan and Singapore, could help Thailand claim a larger share of the projected US$267 billion global entertainment tourism market by 2030. There is also an emphasis on developing man-made attractions and hosting major events to attract visitors. Jackson Wang’s recent concert in Bangkok served as an example of successful entertainment tourism, drawing over 24,000 attendees. Galaxy Resorts's venture in Macau, a mega-resort with substantial non-gaming revenue, illustrates the potential benefits for Thailand. Clayton advised caution regarding Thailand’s planned 300-baht tourism tax. He stressed the importance of transparency in fund allocation, suggesting that revenue should enhance tourist experiences through better infrastructure and insurance. Key Takeaways Thailand aims to attract up to 60 million tourists annually by 2035. Cooperation is vital to creating unique experiences for visitors. Caution is advised on implementing the 300-baht tourism tax. Thailand has simply priced itself out of core markets (e.g. budget tourism), thanks to greed, dual pricing, the strong baht, and high import taxes (e.g. for foreign wines and beers). That's why many tourists opt for other destinations, or shorten their average length of stay in Thailand to only 4 - 9 days...

October 25, 2025Oct 25 I not belive these numbers and now Thailand flirting with WEF and that will lower the tourists to Thailand. In the Nation Thailand they allready write WEF propaganda about climath change and says in 2030 5 billion people will be without wather. This, will scare people away from Thailand not atract them.
October 25, 2025Oct 25 Steps Necessary to Achieve 60 Million Tourists by 2035 -Ban harassment and witch-hunting of foreigners online, with criminal penalties similar to defamation laws. -Prohibit police raids in entertainment zones where foreigners are the majority, except in rare national security cases. -Streamline visa policy: Eliminate the 90-day reporting requirement Shrink immigration services by two-thirds in line with reduced responsibilities Remove any incentive for foreigners to use corrupt intermediaries -Simplify foreign bank account opening rules and strictly forbid closures except in clear cases of misuse. -End double and triple pricing practices completely. -Prison terms for the Thai drivers operating a vehicle against traffic, and tougher penalties for other forms of prohibited driving. -End the flip-flop policy, at least in aspects directly affecting foreigners.

October 25, 2025Oct 25 Popular Post The countries not going to get any bigger but they're going to fit another 25 million tourists per year? That would destroy the already severely over touristed locations and make them entirely undesirable.
October 25, 2025Oct 25 Little Hong Kong, my other place a casual abode, had 56 million tourists pre covid (2019) and expect 45 million+ in 2025. It's at least 3 to 4 times more expensive than Thailand, and only a handful of gogo bars left (compared to early 2000's).. BUT, everything works...on time.. Trains, buses, trams, ferries, airport. Electricity (this, and the following 2 virtually never fail even during typhoons. Underground cables) Internet Water, Banking etc NO stupid, restrictive alcohol selling hours. Every local and PR carry ID cards. So, 18yrs or above or no sell. Locals pretty much all speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Makes it easy. Yes, it's now(1997) part of a 1.4 billion people country next door, but they do things RIGHT!

October 25, 2025Oct 25 Popular Post I wonder how many foreigners living here, with their Thai family, no longer visit tourist attractions or travel and visit, to stay a night or two? All because they get mightily shafted with their ridiculous TM30 "tourist challenge" - Visit outside of your province and on return, you have 24 hours to visit their den of hell immigration, to renew your TM30, and just to keep it interesting, a 1600 Baht "fee" for late reporting, I just can;t wait to head out.

Yes every non-resident, as well for just a day visit, they account for like 80% of total arrivals. This is no different in Thailand too, anyone who would clear immigration, every single time, appears to count. That means I count for like 4 per year or more already.
