Cyber police raided a suspected large-scale ammunition production site in Phetchabun and seized more than 200,000 rounds on 25 October 2568, prompting the arrest of the homeowner and an ongoing criminal investigation. The operation uncovered raw materials, tools and weapons described as worth millions and authorities have charged the suspect under firearms and military equipment laws.

The raid was conducted under a search warrant issued by Lom Sak Provincial Court (Warrant No. 239/2568) at house number 290, Moo 1, Wang Kwang subdistrict, Nam Nao district. The operation was led by Pol Lt Gen Suraphon Prembutr, Commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), with Pol Maj Gen Siriwat Deephor, Commander of CCIB Division 1, directing Pol Col Preeda Khongchat, Deputy Commander of CCIB Division 1, Pol Col Krit Kanchana, Superintendent of Subdivision 2, and Pol Lt Col Teerasak Narasri, Inspector of Subdivision 2, to execute the search and arrest. The suspect and homeowner was identified as 64-year-old Sunthorn Banchertsakul.

Officers seized over 200,000 rounds of ammunition in various calibres, 149,995 grams of lead for bullet production, enough to produce around 140,000 additional rounds, three firearms with suppressors, 1,022 bullet moulding dies, 49 sets of mixed-size bullet moulds, one laptop, 14 printed guides detailing mould usage, one computer tablet, 23 lead-cutting machines, three bullet-mould stamping machines and 104 additional tools and accessories. Authorities estimated the total value of the seized materials to be in the millions of baht.

Investigators said the case originated when Pol Lt Col Teerasak Narasri and his team uncovered online sales of ammunition and bullet moulds listed under disguised product names on a major e-commerce platform. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had also been promoting and selling his products through multiple social media accounts and uploading videos demonstrating ammunition sizes and moulding techniques.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to producing and selling ammunition for more than three years. He was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, illegal manufacture and sale of ammunition for commercial purposes without a licence, and unauthorised possession of military-grade equipment.
