Some countries would like to manufacture goods themselves.

A very tiny microscopic example, but Thai workers were at a a loss that the market was flooded with elephant pants manufactured in China, which was normally manufactured by local thais in factories here. Of course this is just a very tiny example.

But Thailand is a developing country and needs manufacturing for employment for it's population.

Thai or Dai?

Is possible the local Dai minority were complaining the the Thais had stolen their elephant pants.

Go west a bit to India and there you have the Indian tectonic plate pushing north and the Eurasian plate pushing south, creating the Himalayas.

No problem with the truth. Only with your weird and distorted truth.

So, what is wrong with Thailand getting closer to China, and make trade deals and other agreements? Is that because everything is better in the West? What the heck are you doing here then?
