November 16, 2025Nov 16 Racist attacks against Indian Americans have intensified, with far-right narratives taking a more aggressive stance on social media platforms. Following Kash Patel's Diwali post as FBI Director on X, a wave of derogatory comments emerged from far-right Christian nationalist accounts. Similar hostility greeted posts from prominent figures like Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, reflecting a troubling increase in anti-Indian sentiment among some right-wing groups in the US. This increase in racial hostility aligns with the policies and rhetoric seen during Donald Trump's presidency, which included rigorous immigration restrictions. Fringe voices have found a platform, emboldening attacks against Indian Americans, especially with the change in content moderation on X after Elon Musk's takeover. Hate speech targeting Indians and Indian Americans sees spikes during significant cultural or political events, such as Trump’s senior adviser appointments or trade discussions involving India. The impact extends beyond online interactions, manifesting in everyday life. Reports from community leaders and organisations reveal increasing incidents of harassment and abuse. In Palm Bay, Florida, for example, a city council member faced calls for removal after making derogatory remarks about Indians. In Texas, protests and public insults further highlight the racial tensions brewing at community levels. Experts warn of the real-world implications of such online vitriol. Rohit Chopra, a professor studying far-right communities, highlights the socio-economic prominence of Indian Americans as a factor making them targets. As one of the highest-earning ethnic groups, their achievements in fields like technology and government often attract envy and resentment from others, further fuelling xenophobic narratives. Looking ahead, the influence of anti-Indian rhetoric leaves the community vulnerable to potential violence. The intertwining of online and offline hate presents a challenge for Indian Americans advocating for solidarity with other minority groups. Promoting understanding and inclusivity remains essential as incidents continue to rise. The public response from officials, like White House spokesman Kush Desai, emphasises the government's commitment to religious freedom and diversity. However, notable figures, including Vice President JD Vance, have failed to condemn the hostility sufficiently. Vance, whose wife is Indian American, has previously downplayed the severity of such rhetoric, emphasising heritage and gratitude as values for migrants, which some interpret as subtly justifying exclusionary thinking, reported CNN. In summary, as online platforms continue to serve as breeding grounds for hate speech, the Indian American community in the US faces a growing threat from right-wing extremism. The persistence of these issues calls for ongoing vigilance and dialogue to safeguard communities against discrimination and violence. Key Takeaways Indian Americans face increasing racial hostility from far-right groups. Social media, notably X, amplifies racist rhetoric due to relaxed oversight. Growing hostility risks translating into physical violence against Indian Americans. Read more USA and World News HERE Adapted by ASEAN Now from CNN 2025-11-17
November 16, 2025Nov 16 Popular Post CNN will have to do better to push their intersectionality agenda. I mean, is an Indian American the same as an American Indian? I think not. And do LGBTQ2PS++etc American Indians rank higher or lower than Indian American LGBTQ2PS++etc' on the intersectional ladder of oppression? We need to know these things, because I'm getting confused over who I am supposed to hate the most.

November 17, 2025Nov 17 Popular Post Quite a dilemma according to what Trump said "United States doesn't have talent to fill jobs" and need foreign workers especially from India. Big disconnect between the far right and their dim leader who is still insisting on the $100 k H-1B visa and wonder why less Indians are coming.

We need to know these things, because I'm getting confused over who I am supposed to hate the most. YOU might need to be told the difference, but the majority of smart people will look at the thread and see that the contents are about Indians from the sub continent of India, all of who are immigrants. Exactly the same people as those who supposedly hate them. Otherwise they would be called Native Americans who lived there long before the white people killed them off and stole their land. Secondly, you are not supposed to hate anyone.
November 17, 2025Nov 17 We're talking about abuse that people from India get in America. We should realise that Pakistanis in America also get bad treatment. Actually, people who are indigenous to India and Pakistan who are in Britain, well, they also get aggro from people.

November 17, 2025Nov 17 One word can resume the situation - jealousy. Because all the indians in the USA are doing very, very well. Obviously it triggers anger with the broke rednecks living in their trailers maybe ? On the other hand the indians in the US who still want to stay, should rather follow the steps of their other fellow US indians, who are highly qualified, rich and are leaving America to go back to India where they are flourishing.

November 17, 2025Nov 17 The vast majority of the Indian community as a collective are doing very well in America - education, business, etc They problem as they've grown in richness ironically they themselves have become very right wing, so the same opportunities afforded to them from immigration, they want to draw the ladders up and not have others coming. They are proper hardcore. Alot of them vote for Trump and Republicans. The problem for them is that allowing the right wing to rise so much (especially the far right) means they themselves are now targets for racist abuse. These idiots didn't think that would happen.

The problem for them is that allowing the right wing to rise so much (especially the far right) means they themselves are now targets for racist abuse. These idiots didn't think that would happen. I would imagine most people who do well and achieve wealth become somewhat right wing, if they were not already ,its only natural, and despite what you leftists may wish to believe , there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The alternative is rich leftys and to be honest just one bill gates is more than enough Most who achieve wealth have a modicum of intelligence, certainly more than the average leftist , (that's why they voted for Trump) and the fact that even asian immigrants realise that uncontrolled immigration is not sustainable and should be stopped demonstrates this beyond doubt. So now we have a minority group, originally and typically identified by "the left" as vulnerable victims, now slammed as "far right" racists by the same lefties. Sadly for the lefties there is very little actual racism around these days , so they need to invent it
