Police in Map Ta Phut have arrested four suspects accused of using an M4 assault rifle to open fire on rivals outside a bar in Rayong, resulting in the death of an uninvolved woman. The arrests were carried out on 17 November 2025 by Rayong provincial police, who seized the rifle, dozens of 5.56mm rounds and the vehicle allegedly used in the escape. Officers said the suspects had been linked to a violent confrontation days earlier.

The shooting occurred on 15 November 2025 at a bar in Soi Siriporn, Map Ta Phut, where the group allegedly launched a barrage of gunfire at their rivals. A woman identified as Ms Aom was struck by a stray bullet and later died from her injuries. The attack prompted an intensive police operation targeting multiple locations believed to be connected to the suspects.

Police detained four individuals identified as First, Yufa, Mike and Jaab. Senior officers, including Pol Maj Gen Pramot Ngampradit and Rayong police commanders, led the raids that recovered the M4 rifle, ammunition and other evidence. Investigators also searched homes and hiding places where additional firearms and ammunition were found.

According to police, the suspects face charges of attempted murder and murder, with officers stating the group appeared prepared to commit further violence. Authorities said the arrests were part of broader efforts to crack down on war weapons and violent gangs operating in the area. All four suspects have been taken for questioning to determine possible wider links or planned reprisals.

Daily News reported that police emphasised that they will continue to remove illegal firearms from circulation in Rayong to ensure public safety. The investigation is ongoing as forensic teams analyse the seized weapon and collect further evidence. Officers said more arrests could follow if additional accomplices are identified.

Sad loss of young lady's live. Tragic.

The "suspect" potentially armed and dangerous and not even in handcuffs. A simple visa overstayer would be treated differently.

Wonder where they acquired that M4 assault rifle. Certainly didn't buy it at Big C. From a relative in the armed forces or law enforcement perhaps?

The police in Rayong province are kept busy and in general they have to be very active, Rayong being the richest province in Thailand due to manufacturing and oil & gas attracts a vast amount of incoming cheap labour, these workers have zero respect for the Thai law and cause a huge amount of work for the police, fighting among themselves, fighting with other migrant labour, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, cross border smuggling, fuel smuggling, people trafficking, keeps the Rayong police on their toes for sure, and for the most part they do a damned good job!
