Russian President Vladimir Putin is dangling the prospect of a diplomatic breakthrough — while openly threatening to grab more Ukrainian territory by force if Kyiv refuses to retreat. The Kremlin strongman, speaking in Bishkek on Thursday, said a US-drafted plan to end the war could “form the basis for future agreements.” But any hope of rapid progress was quickly smothered as Putin repeated his maximalist red lines.

Nobody want's "a deal," especially the US.  War is money, KIA/MIA/WIA means profits.  Ukraine and the EU will reject all proposals and then the Western media will collectively chime that "Russia doesn't want peace."  However, Vladimir Vladimirovich did recently state that either a negotiated settlement or a military end to the SMO will work for Russia.

 "The ruble is rubble, Russia's economy is in tatters, Russia's military is dying by the millions - Russia is losing the war."

Of course it is.  You bet. Anything ya'll say.  The Rolling Stones summed up the SMO nicely from the Russian perspective... I'm sure Vladimir Vladimirovich is a Mick Jagger fan!

The view from the Kremlin. What complete and utter tosh.

The Kremline apparently possesses tactical nuclear weapons that would neutralise any NATO response, and they would not hesitate to use them.

The war would have been over 3 years ago and at least half a million more Russians alive had Putin chosen this option. Why didn't he?

Naturally, there are some thinkers who use code like "bankers" to signify dark forces manipulating governments. Its the same old crap. 80 years ago people of the same ilk would blame everything on the Jew.

By sheer coincidence the spin off to the video game Fallout is into its second season.
