Need to get all our (USA) military out of everywhere, and start protecting the homeland.   Only keep Navy out there to ensure USA shipping lanes movement, and for USA flagged ships.   Other countries need to start paying for our international interventions.   

 

Borrowing money to give it away just isn't working.

US need a permanent war economy to keep a significant portion of its economic activity that is tied to defense spending which in turn influences policymakers. There are also personal motivation by US President to go to  wars like in Iraq, Afghanistan and Venezuela. Maybe even Panama and Greenland.

Along with the pentagon actually accounting for the billions they seem to misplace a wee bit too often.
