No, it didn't.  Good thing the US does allow 'mass immigration,' only individuals.  And it's blocking them now, too.  Blocking pretty much everyone who might contribute to America's greatness, as so many immigrants did in the past. When caught up in the fog of nonsense people often forget the fact that a third of American physicians are Indians who are medical specialists, many of America's top tech people are from other nations, and for the most part Americans just simply don't have the skills for very high level positions. Even the lowly positions like dishwashers, folks doing menial landscapering, fast food jobs, and people working in meat packing factories are jobs that Americans simply do not want to do. There are 1000s of corporations complaining about that just right now.

 

These tariffs have been an enormous failure, and hopefully the courts will reject them soon. 

As far as Representative Ilhan Omar is concerned the fact is that she is a US citizen and has been for over 20 years.

 

She won her seat with a significant majority. If that was due to the Somali-American vote then obviously a lot of these Somalis are also American citizens; although I suspect that actually her support in that community is much wider. 

 

Now I don't agree with a lot of what she says, but as she made no secret of the views when she ran for office one must assume that her electoral base were at least prepared to listen to them, and she is fully entitled to put them forward.

 

I rather suspect that Trumps comments (and those of some others) are driven by an atavistic belief that non white women should not be allowed to hold elected office (something of leitmotif in his presidency - AOC, Jasmine Crockett?) and perhaps by extension a conviction that coloured people should not have the right to vote!

No one wants to work. People work because they want money. If you give people that do not work money, they will continue not working.

It's not because the voters decided suddenly that they would have rather had Harris (although I would, because the dollar would be stronger right now). Trump is getting killed with the polling because he obstinately refuses to stop H1Bs and L-1s. Increasingly people are also complaining about student visas and OPT work permits. Trump is going to get clobbered on this issue. And trying to distract people with "look, there's a squirrel Somali" isn't going to work. Too many people are mad. They can't wait for the Democrats to impeach his fat ass.

Agreed. You can't scream all day long about illegal immigrants and all the problems that they're causing without offering a fix to the completely broken immigration system, and the antiquated quota system. Corporations need low-cost labor and he's not providing a solution for that. 

 

Turning ICE into the new domestic terrorists is not helping his cause either. Neither is having an absolute incompetent as defense secretary, another incompetent as Attorney General and horrific negotiators working on his behalf like Witkoff and Kushner. The man is hopelessly hapless. 

 

And lastly it's the economy, Don campaigned with lots of promises to fix the economy, and he's done nothing but make it worse with his ridiculously dumb tariff policies. Groceries are getting more expensive, inflation continues unabated (despite very fake government numbers) and the cost of living continues to rise and cause much pain for the average American. 

 

Don's presidency gets an F mark, so far. 

 

 

Deport any illegal Somalians immediately. 

 

For the remaining ones make their welfare dependent on learning English and American culture. If they refuse then remigration. 

 

They are generally not the type of people America needs. Trump was spot on.
