A pre-dawn collision on the Nang Rong–Chamni road in Buriram left one man dead and a woman seriously injured after a pickup truck crossed into the opposite lane and struck a lorry head-on. The crash occurred at about 06:00, on 3 December 2025 in front of the Ekkakanok shop in Nang Rong district. Police and rescue teams found the pickup severely damaged, with its driver and passenger trapped at the scene.

Investigators from Nang Rong Police Station confirmed that the Mitsubishi lorry, registration from Buriram, had come to rest against a roadside power pole, its front end heavily damaged. The driver, 53-year-old Arun, was uninjured and remained at the scene. Nearby, the grey Toyota pickup, registration from Phrae Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, was found on the road with its front crushed and roof torn open.

Rescuers discovered the dead body of 29-year-old passenger Kittitat from Chonburi trapped and pinned in the seat. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Kaewalin from Nakhon Ratchasima, was pinned inside but still alive. She was extracted using hydraulic rescue equipment and taken to Nang Rong Hospital for emergency treatment.

Arun told police he had been driving back to Lam Plai Mat district after delivering goods and was travelling in his normal lane when the pickup suddenly veered into his path. He insisted he had not been drinking or fatigued, adding that he believed the pickup was speeding because its speedometer was found stuck at 180 km/h. Officers have not yet confirmed the significance of this detail.

SiamRath reported that police say the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. CCTV cameras in the area will be examined to establish the pickup’s movements and confirm the sequence of events leading to the impact. The findings will form part of the formal case file.
