A 22-year-old motorcycle rider was found dead with 18 stab wounds in a drainage canal behind Thammasat University Rangsit Campus on 8 December 2025, prompting an urgent police manhunt for the killer. Police from Khlong Luang Police Station were alerted to the discovery near the bus depot for BMTA route 510 in Moo 18, Khlong Nueng, Pathum Thani. Officers confirmed the body as Mr Anurak, known as Latte, who had been left face-down with extensive injuries.

The incident was reported to police after a passer-by spotted a black full-face RD helmet abandoned at the roadside. The witness, a 52-year-old scrap collector named Mr Tinnakorn, said he found the helmet and, upon noticing the body in the canal, alerted workers and contacted police. Forensic officers, investigators and medical staff from Thammasat University Hospital examined the scene and confirmed multiple stab wounds across the victim’s body.

Investigators noted marks on the road indicating that an object had been dragged and they confirmed that several personal items belonging to the victim were missing. These included a white Honda Giorno motorcycle with no licence plate and two mobile phones, an iPhone and a Xiaomi. Police believe the perpetrator may have killed the rider in order to steal his property before fleeing the scene.

Earlier on 8 December, the victim’s disappearance had been reported by his family at Khlong Luang Police Station. According to the complaint, Mr Anurak had been working as a public transport rider in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang and Sukhumvit districts from 20:00 to 05:00 daily for the past two years. His mother told police she last saw him at 20:00 on 7 December when he returned home in Pathum Thani for dinner before heading out again for work.

The victim’s girlfriend, Ms Sky, contacted his mother at 07:00 on 8 December after failing to reach him, which was unusual as he consistently updated her on his passenger drop-off points. Fearing he may have been harmed, they filed a missing-person report to enable the company to check his job records and location data. This alert preceded the eventual discovery of his body later that morning.

Police Superintendent Pol Col Athimes Chaiyasarnvichai said initial checks revealed no signs of a struggle at the scene apart from the helmet found near the canal. Officers believe the killer may have swiftly attacked the victim, taken his belongings and left the area before the body was discarded. He confirmed that investigators will review CCTV footage, trace the victim’s ride-history data and question any witnesses to identify the suspect.

Khoasod reported that the body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation. Police and forensic teams have documented the scene and collected evidence for further analysis. Authorities say they are committed to locating the perpetrator and bringing charges in accordance with the law.
