Ugly city with nothing going for it. 1 good temple. Lamphun is better.

Temples are fine if on a hill with view.

I went there for 5 days last year - had to for a family commitment. It was incredibly dull. Highlight of the trip was finding the Robinson's - that's how dull it was.

I wouldn't return unless I really had to. Only saving grace was that the Space Hotel was quite decent if you take a suite room.

Yes, I heard there's not much to do, apart from a temple.

Lamphun is supposedly better.

The atmosphere is better in Lamphun. Lampang is spread out and not appealing. Mai and Rai are easily the best northern cities. Nan is ok and probably 3rd best.

Yes, rude people. And two times a bomb exploded where I had been standing, or walking earlier! - 24 hours after I had been on railway station platform 1, a bomb exploded in the exact place (2004, or 2005)!, and, in 2006, only a few hours after I went to a shopping mall (Diana Shopping Centre), a bomb exploded there)... (Sounds strange, but it's true!! Very dangerous place twenty years ago!)

I think you should move to Pattaya and brighten the hell up!

got dam it, this is almost Deja vu of Britman back in the day and he soon was going to die, but can remember he started 5 depressive treads a day

There's a reason some places are tourist attractions and other places are not.

With the occasional "hidden gem" that no one knows about.

If a foreigner is unlikely to visit, then it's probably not worth it for someone living in Thailand either.

Yes, do stay away! Terrible place full of Muslims, bombs going off left right and centre. Lots of rude people wading through flood water, and don't forget rats bigger than cats, specially trained by terrorists to bite farang.

Well, Hat Yai (partly Muslim) has never won a prize for 'cleanest city in Thailand', unlike Yala (mostly Muslim)... 😆

Yea ... has to be very unique, or have a nice view.  They do have some prime RE, which means now, we go for the view, not the temple itself.

Early year, visited quite a few, and very nice, but also very unique.  Soon got boring, unless there was a view.  Another plus of temples, they usually have some decent vendors nearby.

Also, nobody has ever minded me operating a drone from their grounds, so got lots of nice snaps 😎

And what I really admire about her topics is that they are always so positive. Not a single one ever criticizes or bashes Thailand in any way.

So you believe boring & worst mean the same thing ... hmm

I've been to boring cities, but they certainly weren't the worst.

Uttaradit is pretty boring city, but it's not trashed, crime ridden, over run with tourist, and have gridlock traffic the majority of the time, so far from worst.

It's all relative, apparently, so is the meaning of boring & worst.

Uttaraditt have nice gym and also great potential for off road riding with motorbikes. And also a nice pit stop with a couple of nice restaurants

again? was there not recently a thread about this?

Anyway, what criteria you base your judgement on?

What's wrong with Ubon R.? big but nice and rather relaxed city, everything there you (at least I ) could wish for. good hospitals, shopping malls and hyper markets,  great food, street markets etc.

All subjective dude like most things. I found Ubon really lame.
