Gaza Food Supplies Improve Amid Ongoing Struggles

UN-backed experts report that, while nutrition and food supplies in Gaza have improved since the recent ceasefire, 100,000 people still face "catastrophic conditions." The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) highlighted last month that around half a million people, roughly a quarter of Gaza's population, were in famine-affected areas.

Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in October, the UN and humanitarian agencies have increased food deliveries to Gaza. However, Israel's foreign ministry disputes the IPC findings, calling the report "deliberately distorted.". The IPC’s latest analysis showed that although emergency conditions remain, no areas in Gaza are currently in famine, with projections suggesting improvements continuing.

Phase 5 of the IPC, which indicates "catastrophic conditions", continues to impact over 100,000 Gazans, albeit with a projected decline in this number. Israel's Cogat criticised the IPC report, stating the data used was inadequate and didn't cover all the humanitarian aid provided. The IPC defended its methodology, citing the use of data from UN and Cogat sources. Acute malnutrition is critical in Gaza City and serious in other regions like Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis.

Looking ahead, the situation remains severe, but the number of people in dire conditions could drop to 1,900 by April. However, renewed hostilities could risk famine returning to the entire region. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated ongoing negotiations around the US-brokered peace plan, which involves troop withdrawals and disarming Hamas, although key issues are unresolved.

The IPC identified limited humanitarian access, displacement, and destruction of livelihoods as key factors in food insecurity. Israel previously imposed a blockade on aid to pressure Hamas, lifting it partially in May. Cogat accused the IPC of ignoring US and Israeli perspectives in their analysis. Meanwhile, Unwra emphasised that despite no ongoing famine, Gaza's living conditions are catastrophic, worsened by winter, urging sustained humanitarian access, reported the BBC.

Key Takeaways:

  • The IPC reports improved food supplies in Gaza, yet 100,000 people still face "catastrophic conditions".
  • Israel disputes the IPC's findings, criticising their methodology and data sources.
  • Continued aid access and regional peace efforts are essential to stabilise the situation further.

What starvation?

The initial claims of famine were disproven. Now, as the evidence  is more apparent there was never a famine, the vested interests  are scrambling to suppoprt their initial lie. If there isn't a "famine" they cannot justify their demands for financial support. Tens of thousands of people make a good living from the 'famine'.

What's next claiming that there is a lack of  baby formula again?

As well as starving them, they have broken the ceasefire almost every day.

This wasn't even newsworthy on many news outlets, yet if they had been Israeli, it would be front page news.

Why are you sorting the facts?

Why are you so adamant that Israel can do no wrong?

GAZA, 19 December 2025 – Four out of every five children in Gaza will enter the new year still facing crisis levels of hunger, despite the agreement by Israeli authorities two months ago to allow more aid in, including food, said Save the Children following the release of new hunger data.

why are you still parroting nonsense?

Key Takeaways

  • Allegations exist: Some security think tanks and Israeli officials argue Hamas exploits aid systems.

  • Evidence gap: Multiple U.S. analyses (USAID, State Department) found no proof of systematic Hamas looting of humanitarian supplies.

  • Humanitarian reality: Regardless of theft claims, hundreds of thousands in Gaza face catastrophic hunger. Aid delivery remains critical.

   Once again .

Due to the thieves wearing civilian clothes, they couldn't  prove they were Hamas members who were stealing the food .

Thefts were linked to unknown actors, armed gangs, unarmed civilians, or corrupt aid workers.

Probably need Israeli or Jewish American, who offer unconditional support for Israel but deep down in their inner being know what is happening is wrong but can't change their minds

There has not been a famine in Gaza, nor is there a risk of famine in Gaza attributable to Israel. I provided an example of  how Hamas held back children's food supplies, using it as a means of blaming Israel. You ignored that.

You are using Save the Children UK as your source of information.Save the Children has a history of making false claims and has been repeatedly exposed for those false claims. For example, the credible NGO Monitor stated;

False Accusations of “Starvation”

  • Save the Children has repeatedly joined in the demonization campaign falsely accusing Israel of employing starvation as a method of warfare against Hamas. These allegations have been repeatedly shown to be based on fundamental methodological errors and overwhelmingly disproven by publicly available information.
  • In a February 2024 press release, Save the Children’s Country Director for the West Bank and Gaza Jason Lee said, “there is no food left.” In February 2024, Save the Children signed a statement calling for “an immediate and permanent ceasefire and a massive increase in humanitarian assistance to avoid famine in Gaza.”
  • On December 9, 2023, Save the Children issued a press release accusing Israel of “using starvation as a method of warfare,” despite Israel’s facilitation of food, medicine, and other aid into Gaza.

The reality is that all food that entered. Gaza through Israel was logged and documented. This was observed and witnessed  by multiple foreign governments and third party charitable agencies.  The documentation was often different than the data released by Hamas and relied upon by certain  groups who had a  pre-existing political bias. Save the Children is one of them.

Gaza is a money maker for some charities. One of them is Save the Children. For an organization that hjas made Gaza a cornerstone of its fundraising activity, it does not spend very much on Gaza aid. Putting aside the  documented concerns about STC's administrative costs, if one looks at the last published  financial documentation for 2023 Save the Children  had a total income of US $1.5 billion. Only 74% of this was spent on actual programs. It gets worse when one looks at what was spent on Israel,  Gaza and the Palestinian Administration Territory: $14.5 million.   Take out Israel and the PLA and it is doubtful that anything signiifcant  was spent on Gaza aid, other than the political workshops and training that STC says it provides. other charities have  sent in specific  aid pallets, so the lack of naid cannot be "blamed" on the war.

The takeaway is that you are bombarding with unreliable claims and sources known to be anti Israel.

The Gazans are killing each other and you blame Israel. It wasn't Israel that was lining up opponents of Hamas and executing them.

Hamas has launched multiple attacks against Israel and is reporting its casualties as if they were  non combatants.

Once again you are presenting Hamas claims as factual. Left out of the story are relevant details such as;

- Was there an actual  event?

- if there was an event, was there an exchange of gunfire, i.e. was the  building being described as a school  a source of hostiule fier?

The bias  in the story is obvious. The building was not a school. If it was a school it would have had operating classrooms and students. It was instead, a building called a school. It may have once been used as a school, but it was no longer being sued as a school. Calling the building a school is intentionally deceitful and misleading.

The ceasefire agreement encompassed Hamas stepping down from power and giving up their weapons .

As Hamas have not complied with that condition , then Israel has the right to continue fighting Hamas

5 hours ago, JimCM said:

Gaza and Hamas most certainly started the war. There was a ceasefire and "truce" agreement between Hamas and Israel agreed to in May 2021. Although, multiple militant groups continued to fire missiles into Israel following the agreement's signing, and multiple insurgent attacks were stopped,  Israel held off from  massive retaliation. On October 7, 2023 Gaza launched a suprise attack on israel, which killed 1200+ israelis and foreign residents.  Your denial of the Hamas. attack speaks to your intent and motive,. Even Hamas takes responsibility for its attack. Nor does Hamas deny that one of its primary motives was to stop normalization of relations between israel and other Arab  countries. Hamas leaders have publicly stated that the goal was to prevent peace with the Arab world, because they wanted their political positions to take priority. This is why the Arab world  has not been particularly vocal in its support of Hamas.
