A 17-year-old motorcycle rider was killed on the morning of 22 December 2025 after crashing into the rear of a car on Rama 2 Road in Bangkok and being run over by another vehicle, causing fatal injuries at the scene. The incident occurred at about 08.00 near the entrance to Rama 2 Soi 68, in the Khae Sam Dam sub-district of Bang Khun Thian district. The teenager, who worked part-time as a machinery repair technician while studying, was later pronounced dead despite rescue efforts.

Police said the crash happened on the inbound parallel lane of Rama 2 Road, where traffic was slow-moving during the morning rush. The motorcyclist was riding a red Honda Wave motorcycle with Bangkok registration when he struck the rear of a Honda Civic car that had stopped in traffic. After the initial collision, the rider fell across the roadway and was then run over by another following vehicle that did not stop at the scene.

Officers from Tha Kham Police Station, led by Pol Lt Col Phairoj Jittrangsee, arrived at the scene with volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and forensic doctors from Siriraj Hospital. The motorcycle was found on its side with visible damage to the front, while the Honda Civic had impact marks on the left rear. The victim, identified only as Mr A, suffered severe head and leg injuries and lost a large amount of blood.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Ms Paweena, aged 28, told police she was travelling inbound on Rama 2 Road when traffic slowed and she brought her car to a stop. She said she then heard a loud impact at the rear of her vehicle and got out to check. According to her account, the motorcyclist had already been struck by another unidentified car, which ran over the lower part of his body before fleeing the scene.

The victim’s mother and relatives arrived shortly after and were seen grieving at the roadside. She told police that her son had left home early that morning to travel to a private company in the Ekachai area for part-time work as a machinery repair technician, balancing employment with his studies. She said she later received a call from rescue workers informing her that her son had died.

Khoasod reported that police sent the body to the forensic department at Siriraj Hospital for a post-mortem examination, after which the family will collect it for religious rites. Investigators are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify and trace the vehicle that ran over the victim and left the scene. Legal action will be taken once the driver is located, police said.
