Mule Account Scam Victim Rescued in Pattaya

An 18-year-old man, identified as Bas, was rescued by Pattaya police after allegedly being assaulted and detained by individuals involved in a mule account scam. Police intervened at a condominium on Pattaya Sai 3 Road following a distress call from condominium staff. The victim had responded to an online ad offering payment for opening an account but was coerced into handing over personal banking information.

Prior to the incident, Bas met with two Chinese men and a Thai woman under the pretense of earning 1,500 baht for setting up a wallet account. Once involved, he was forced to surrender additional bank accounts, his ID card, and mobile phone. After noticing suspicious financial activity, Bas attempted to freeze the accounts, which led to the suspects luring him to the condominium where they threatened him.

The swift action of a condominium staff member, who witnessed the struggle, enabled Bas to break free and seek police assistance.
