Pool shock for salt water chlorinator pool with algae growth

Featured Replies

Currently trying to work out where I can find Dichlor shock for a salt water chlorinator pool with algae growth

It seems everything but ph is on the low end and hoping a pool shock will kill the algae growth but trying to find the correct type needed

Leaving the pump on for 10-12 hours a day and set the chlorinator to boost today to try to raise the chlorine levels

We have started to have problems with algae appearing with daily brushes but is not helping and trying to raise the chlorine with not much success

Also 3 labradors playing on the land is getting mud into the pool when then run around the pool edge/tiled floor and it's finding its way in the pool mainly over the Christmas/New year

Need to grass the area or concrete soon

With surrounds like that you will have algae growth.

Dust is full of nutrients. Resist using grass around the pool for at least a metre.

Most pool shops & Lazada sell granulated 90% Try-Chlor in 5 kg tubs and maybe large hardware stores.

If you have small breakouts just sprinkle over those areas. Don't shock the pool with it or you won't be able to swim for a week.

Try and let the boost on the chlorinator to get chlorine up.

If you have dogs swimming in the pool you will have ongoing issues. Also at least once a month boost the chlorinator.

Dog hair has enormous surface area and each swim will take out heaps of chlorine.

Get a chlorine tablet float to help with keeping the chlorine up. Chlorine tablets are 90% dichlor/Trichlor.

Great many thanks

So far the dogs have only fell in a couple of times and now learnt to stay away but as they all play in the mud and they like to sit on the edge of the pool and it needs cleaning daily to get rid of the mud

Using test strips i can't see the chlorine levels rising even when i use the boost function

Thanks though i will order the tablets on shopee/lazada?
