In Rayong, a 23-year-old man was allegedly attacked by multiple men, including his wife, with the incident caught on CCTV. Despite the assault occurring on December 21, police have yet to make any arrests. One of the victims, Thawatchai, reported that the attack happened during a family gathering outside a rental room where he was with his nephew and a friend.

Thawatchai suspects his nephew was the main target due to a heated phone conversation shortly before the incident. The assailants arrived by car and violently assaulted the nephew, leaving him injured after being hit with a wooden stick. Shockingly, the nephew’s wife accompanied the attackers and did not intervene, departing with them afterward.

The family decided to go public because of slow investigative progress. In response, the chief of Map Ta Phut Police Station stated that summonses have been issued to all suspects, including the wife and men identified as security personnel. He emphasized that the investigation is active and denied any oversight from the police.

Looking forward, authorities have pledged to speed up the investigation and bring the assailants to justice. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about public safety and police responsiveness in the region. Community members are watchful for developments in the legal process, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Thawatchai’s nephew was allegedly targeted during a family visit.

  • Despite the attack, two weeks passed without police arrests.

  • Investigation efforts have intensified following public outcry.

Man was considered until the 20th cent. to include women by implication, though referring primarily to males. It is now freq. understood to exclude women, and is therefore avoided by many people.

But isnt the main issue here how easy thais use violence to settle disagreements, preferring many against one, not what sex his partner is ????

Puzzles me.... ;-)

Sadly I think that it is not just in Thailand that people resort to violence to settle disputes

Many years ago I was asked to act for a man who weighed over 130kg - who had attacked his 48kg wife

His "justification" was that she scared him - I declined to act for him

No money in this for the police. Also it is a domestic which the police traditionally do not involve themselves in in Thailand.

I know victim-shaming is bad, but the poor fella should'a known not to marry a ladyboy!
