A 51-year-old security guard has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a colleague to death at a company in Ramkhamhaeng Soi 26, Bangkok. The killing occurred in the early hours of 31 December 2025 and has drawn attention to workplace conflict among security staff.

Police from Hua Mak Police Station were alerted to the incident after the body of Mr Tan, aged 51, was found at a guard post within the company premises. He had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the suspected attacker fled and could not initially be contacted.

Investigators believe the suspect was a fellow security guard who worked alongside the victim. The case was treated as a serious violent crime, prompting a rapid manhunt coordinated by the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

According to police, the suspect was later identified as Mr Sarawut, also aged 51. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lt Gen Siam Boonsom ordered officers from Hua Mak Police Station and Metropolitan Police Division 4 to intensify efforts to locate him.

Mr Sarawut was arrested on the morning of 6 January 2026 in front of Kantharalak Police Station in Si Sa Ket province. He was taken into custody under an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court on a charge of murder.

During questioning, Mr Sarawut confessed to killing Mr Tan, police said. He claimed the two men had been in conflict for more than three months, particularly over work arrangements and disputes regarding night shift duties.

The suspect stated that tensions escalated the previous month into a physical altercation. He further alleged that Mr Tan had reported him to their supervisor, which fuelled anger and resentment.

On the day of the incident, Mr Sarawut said he approached the victim to resolve their differences. The discussion reportedly failed, leading to another fight that escalated into violence.

Police said Mr Sarawut grabbed a knife kept at the guard post and stabbed his colleague multiple times, causing fatal injuries. After the attack, he carried out what officers described as a complex escape plan.

The suspect allegedly took a taxi, then a bus from the Mo Chit area, before hiding in Samut Sakhon province. He later travelled by several van services back to his home province of Si Sa Ket, where police eventually tracked him down.

Daily News reported that authorities have conducted a crime reconstruction based on the suspect’s confession. Mr Sarawut has been handed over to investigators to face legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
