The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) updated foreign military attaché assistants from 22 countries about recent military operations near the Thai-Cambodian border, emphasizing civilian protection and restraint. Air Chief Marshal Sakesan Kantha led the session, focusing on transparency and the restraint applied by Thailand in its operations aimed at protecting national sovereignty.

The briefing addressed military air strikes prompted by perceived violations of Thai sovereignty. According to ACM Sakesan, these operations are designed to defend territory while reducing civilian impact. The operations are said to comply with international humanitarian laws and the principle of self-defense.

Precision-guided tactics were reportedly used to target military zones, minimizing collateral damage. The RTAF assured that civilian safety is prioritized, even amidst provocations. Officials, including Air Marshal Chakkrit Thammavichai and ACM Praphat Sonjaidee, provided further details, offering foreign representatives the opportunity to inquire about specific operations.

Looking forward, the RTAF stated its readiness should tensions escalate, though it prefers diplomatic resolutions. In related developments, the Royal Thai Army confirmed that a reorganized border section remains under Thai control, citing historical encroachment issues with Cambodia.

The Army has encouraged public review of previous protest letters filed under the Memorandum of Understanding 43. This MOU is a framework for managing disputes along the border with Cambodia, reported The Thaiger.
