A tragic incident unfolded yesterday, January 11, as a well-known boat noodle shop owner, 64-year-old Supaporn, also known as Aunt Pan, was found dead in her home in Chiang Rai. The violent domestic incident involved her 32-year-old son, Phakin, who was also seriously injured. Police were called to Radsadorn Bamrung Road in the Mueang Chiang Rai district, where they found both entrances locked and had to cut the locks to enter the premises.

Officers arrived following reports of a disturbance and discovered Aunt Pan deceased inside. Her son was nearby, critically injured after attempting self-harm, and was rushed to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital by rescue volunteers. Police suspect that Phakin may have been under the influence of alcohol and experiencing drug withdrawal symptoms at the time of the attack. He remains in police custody at the hospital, pending further questioning upon his recovery.

The incident gained wider attention following a video shared on TikTok, believed to have been recorded shortly before the tragedy. The clip, posted by user angrycatthailandv2, shows Aunt Pan smiling and singing during a family birthday celebration. As a prominent figure in Chiang Rai's community, Aunt Pan's death has ignited an outpouring of condolences from locals and customers who have expressed their grief and shared fond memories online.

The case bears resemblance to a recent incident in Amnat Charoen province, where a drug-addicted man beheaded his mother. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about substance abuse and domestic violence in the region.

Phakin will be subjected to police questioning once his condition allows, as authorities seek to piece together the events leading up to the incident. Additionally, the community mourns Aunt Pan's passing, reflecting on her contributions and the void left by her unexpected death, reported The Thaiger.

It was not an accident, she is just murdered... and the son should not to be rushed to the hospital as he did this, despite he was under influence of drugs... Sad for the woman that she died

No one claimed it was an accident.
