Trump suspends visas for Thai nationals

It would appear that the xenophobia is getting worse, and is now extending to a much wider net encompassing 75 different nations, including Thailand. Why Thailand? Not white enough for Miller? Seems very strange to me that Thailand would be added to the list.

WASHINGTON, Jan 14 (Reuters) - The Trump administration is suspending all visa processing for applicants from 75 countries, a State Department spokesperson said on Wednesday. The spokesperson did not elaborate on the plan, first reported by Fox News, which cited a State Department memo.

The pause will begin on January 21, Fox News said. Somalia, Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand are among the affected countries, according to the report.

The memo directs U.S. embassies to refuse visas under existing law while the department reassesses its procedures. No time frame was provided

The reported pause comes amid the sweeping immigration crackdown pursued by Republican U.S. President Donald Trump since taking office last January.

In November, Trump had vowed to "permanently pause" migration from all "Third World Countries" following a shooting near the White House by an Afghan national that killed a National Guard member.

Every Thai I know that goes to the US on a tourist visa does so with the intention of gaming the US Immigration Services and working in the US illegally without a Green Card or the proper visa. I'm not talking about Thais going to the US with their US citizen spouses. I really don't know of one Thai I know who travels to the US doing so to "vacation." They're going their to work and to game the US social services if they can.

Now, really - what is the difference between the United States identifying those countries where large numbers of people coming to the US are actually coming to work illegally and not to "tour."

Two questions:
1. Do you believe that Thailand has the right to screen tourists who are actually coming to Thailand to work illegally and game the Thai immigration system from those real tourists coming to Thailand to vacation?
2. Do you believe that the US does or does not have the right to do the same?

So temporarily suspending Visas while they rework procedures is bad? I wonder how many folks from those countries are real tourists.

But hey, we know that Uzbek ladies come to Bangkok and Pattaya to see the sights. And those Nigerians on Sukhumvit at night are looking at the tourist attractions. The US is mean for not letting them in, they just want to tour around.

I wonder how many of those folks get Visas into Europe. Or China.

No surprise Trump lets the nazis in...........

I have rich Thai friends who holiday in the USA. I'll take a wild guess here and say the only countries who can easily get visas are white.
