A multi-vehicle collision on Mittraphap Road in Kaeng Khoi district, Saraburi province, left eight people injured early on 21 January 2026 after a car failed to complete an overtaking manoeuvre and struck a military vehicle. The impact caused the military vehicle driver to lose control, cross the central median, and collide with a pickup truck carrying chicken parts before crashing into a roadside granite shop. Emergency services responded to the scene and transported the injured to Kaeng Khoi Hospital.

The crash occurred at about 6.45am on the inbound lane towards Nakhon Ratchasima at kilometre marker 9 in Taladiao subdistrict. Police were alerted via the 191 emergency radio centre, prompting officers and rescue teams to attend. Three rescue organisations—Sawang Rattanatrai Thammasathan Saraburi, Ruamkatanyu Foundation (Kaeng Khoi unit), and the Poh Teck Tung Foundation (Kaeng Khoi unit), provided first aid and assisted with hospital transfers.

At the scene, a GMC military vehicle driven by Sergeant Major First Class Badikorn Chinsri was found with damage to the front left side and a burst tyre. The vehicle bore markings of Air Defence Artillery Battalion 1, Regiment 7 and had chicken parts scattered across its front following the collision. The military vehicle then struck a granite shop by the roadside, causing property damage, and six soldiers travelling in the vehicle were injured.

Nearby, a black Honda City with Bangkok registration plates was parked on the express lane shoulder. The driver, Ms Suchada, 30, was uninjured, but her mother, Mrs Thanom Khatthachan, who was seated in the front passenger seat, suffered chest tightness and was injured. The car sustained minor damage, including a broken right side mirror and damage to the left door area.

A white Toyota Vigo pickup truck registered in Saraburi, driven by Mr Prakhong, was also involved and sustained front-end damage. He suffered minor injuries, while chicken parts being transported in the vehicle were scattered across the road. All eight injured people were taken to Kaeng Khoi Hospital for treatment.

Police inspected the scene, recorded evidence and invited all three drivers to Kaeng Khoi Police Station for questioning. CCTV footage from the area will be reviewed to determine the exact cause of the crash and to proceed with legal action.

Matichon reported that Sergeant Major First Class Badikorn said he had been driving in convoy with another military vehicle, carrying a total of 12 soldiers from the Air Defence Artillery unit in Don Mueang to collect fuel in Nakhon Ratchasima. He stated that a black sedan attempted to overtake but was unable to do so when the vehicle ahead braked, leading the driver to swerve between the two military vehicles and causing the initial collision.
