A Myanmar national has died after falling from the sixth floor of a dormitory in Samut Prakan province following a late-night argument with his wife. The incident occurred at around 12.40am on 23 January 2026 at a dormitory located in Soi Phutthasi, Phraeksa subdistrict, Mueang district. The man’s body was found on the ground below the building and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to initial police information, the incident took place after the couple returned to their shared room late at night. The deceased had been drinking alcohol before the argument and the dispute reportedly escalated shortly before the fatal fall. Authorities are treating the case as a sudden death pending further investigation.

The victim’s wife, Ms Ma A, aged 29, provided details of the events leading up to the incident. She told police that she returned from work late that evening and found her husband already intoxicated, having consumed two bottles of alcohol. At around 11pm, she said she wanted to sleep because she had to go to work the next day.

Ms Ma A explained that she went to turn off the music in the room, but her husband did not want it switched off. She then left the room and sat outside, after which he locked the door from inside. She said she repeatedly asked him to open the door because she needed to rest for work the following day, but he refused.

She added that it was only after his nephew came to speak with him that the door was opened. When she returned inside the room, she said her husband no longer wanted to stay there and walked outside. He then ran towards the balcony area, where he subsequently fell from the sixth floor.

Police officers from Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station attended the scene and carried out preliminary checks. There were no immediate reports of other injuries or evidence of a struggle beyond the argument described. The body was later transferred for further examination as part of standard procedure.

NBT reported that authorities stated that those involved will be summoned to provide additional statements at Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station. Investigators will review witness accounts and surrounding circumstances to determine the exact cause of the incident.
