Iran plans to bomb California

Featured Replies

Police in California were warned that Iran could retaliate to US airstrikes in the Middle East by launching drones at the West Coast. An alert issued by the FBI at the end of February warned relevant departments that Iran aspired to carry out a “surprise attack” from offshore using drones to target unspecified sites in California. “We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United States

Attacks by sleeper cells are far more likely. The US is completely out of its element with this misguided and unwise war. Trump is nearly finished.

Sounds like a false flag - fake news to redirect attention. Attacking California wouldn't make much sense - many if not most Californians would be opposed to the war - that's why I think this is a deliberate misdirect or simply fake news. Attacking almost anywhere along the East Coast makes much more sense. Florida, Carolinas, etc.

Whether it's California or not. whether it's relatively soon or not, I think the chances that Iran (or other hostile players) will attack the U.S. "homeland" with cheap drones to be about 100 percent.

So does expert war journalist usually based in Ukraine Tim Mak.

All these wars are related.

Texas would be a prime target; big data centres would also make more strategic sense.

Yes, the addition of cheap drones assembled and fired off by opponents of the US within the United States will almost certainly be a major risk the NSA and CIA must be studying closely by now. I agree that will happen at some point, whether by Iran or some future foe - domestic or foreign.

Depending on the source , california has around 32 military bases.

Would be logical to attack them .

But I agree with ronnie50 : false flag - fake news to redirect attention

The first thing I was thinking to, why bomb those who are most likely to oppose the war!

So they make drones that can fly 10,000 kilometers now? How can they lift the battery? Could it be that they are making this up to sell Trumps illegal war?

I think some report suggested they'd be fired by some annonymous boat off the coast. But I don't believe they will even be considering California. East Coast more likely. Or assembled already inside the US and in storage waiting for instuctions when/where to strike. Or maybe dark forces tied to the US government will fire a few off internally in the US and then blame the Iranians (false flag) to increase American's support for the war (which is at its lowest ever for a foreign war). Edit to add the Israelis could be the ones that will fire off drones inside the US for the same reason as above. Remember the 'dancing Israelis' on 9/11?

You might want to actually read to OP

..."FBI at the end of February warned relevant departments that Iran aspired to carry out a “surprise attack” from offshore using drones to target unspecified sites in California"...

Reads more like the FBI is trying to up the budget.

Wouldn't it be ironic if they use the drones made by the company that Trump's sons are investing in, as we speak.

Justification for the war in Iran how about in more corrupt enrichment of the Trump Clan?

Keeping America safe, bringing down prices, and improving the quality of life, thanks Big Don.

Agreed. One thing I noticed whilst growing up, was the American propensity for dumbing everything down. Whilst Europeans and the British were capable of nuanced discussion, Americans would often separate into teams...and that was it.

The equivalent of football supporters fighting each other. Hooligans.

Very rare you see nuanced discussion here from them. It's either left or right.

Given the FBI history, they'll find a pasty or Arab or Persian ancestry, provide a boat and drones and explosives, and then alert the Coast Guard of "the imminent threat to the homeland."
I've seen this movie before more than once.

I got a few drones they can borrow. Vadar One would be my choice, can land & take off from water, and even has lights for a night time attack.

Ranking 4 before Japan, and are a giverstate, which means they pays more tax than they receive in support.

They could eventually become a country.
