Visitng Uk With My Son....

Featured Replies

I will be returning to the UK with my son (1 year old ) and my girlfriend sometime in the next 3 - 4 months.

We will be giong to Bangkok in the next week or so to get his birth cert and passport, and his mothers visa.

He was born in the Bangkok Phuket Hosptital, and has all the neccesary paperwork with parents names in English and Thai, and both translations.

My questions are:

  • Is he ok to have both Thai and U.K passports
  • If we went to England which passport would he use ( Thai passport one to leave, U.K passport on arrival? )
  • We are financialy stable, but is there any ( U.K ) benefits we are entiteld to?

Thanks in advance for any help

It is fine and legal to have both passports.

Leave thailand on the Thai PP

Enter the UK on the British one.

Do this process in reverse on the way back - the last thing you want is your son being stamped in only for 30 days.

The only other thing to remember is to show BOTH passports to the airline when checking in. It will tell them that no visas of any type are required for your son to travel in either direction.
