HE started it and now wants NATO to help

this is the joke of the year, the guy started the war with Israel help, didn't consult with anybody, didn't share any information thus no advise was given to him, he didn't prepare for any counter measure that could happen, like the closure of the strait of Hormuz, since he started it on it's own Nato members have nothing to do with it, guess what is his latest decision???? I know it's laughable, he said if the Nato allies don't help him overtaking the strait, they will face a very bad future BTW the majority of them already said No, you started it on your own, now finish on your own, China and Japan ignored the request

Donald Trump has ratcheted up the pressure on European allies to help protect the strait of Hormuz, warning that Nato faces a “very bad” future if its members fail to come to Washington’s aid.

NATO will evolve into a European alliance, along with Canada. The USA is not really going to play a part in it.

We will wait and see what happens on the American political scene, but we can be sure, neither Europe nor Canada will trust them for a very long time.

Donalds recipe: For all NATO members, that are not willng to join, import taxes of 100% will be implemented. The Europeans will cave in again, as usual.

The best way to stop a bully is to stand up to him. Most are cowards

We can do what we want. Countries that wont step up to protect their own oil arent worth crap as allies. Noted.

Bet we see some base closures and troop withdrawels in Europe in the future.

This time I agree with you, a rare occurrence. The Strait of Hormuz is a "world affair", regardless if the Europeans like it or not.

Agree totally! And this comes from a guy who wanted to end NATO, and now we demand help from something he didn´t think needed to exist. He is a true clown!

Article 5 does not cover conflict outside of Europe and NA. This is not a NATO problem.

Complete B.S.

The pushback on Trump is a huge hint as the U.S. can't just do what it wants. As far as these other countries, hello Russian oil, Trump's gift to his pal Putin. NATO is important, Trump's arrogance is not.

Don't feed the forum troll. It's insatiable and incredibly repetitive and boring.

Won't be withdrawals. More likely to be banishments. It's getting embarrassing to be even remotely associated with that senile, dribbling fool and all the baggage that comes with him.

Isnt it fabulous? I get to eat what I want, you get to eat what we let you.

Dont you think we should withdraw from Europe?

Can you ask your government to kick us out?. Maybe you guys should start a petition?

Only can hope so, but I have such a feeling that in some countries the US may be shown the door, and asked to leave.

That would be wonderful

It's embarrassing that the rest of our government is so impotent.

Imagine if Obama had pulled all this nonsense, as well as his name being on the Epstein files. A black man with all these teenage white women, hahahahahahaha, oh my Buddha the double standard here is incredible.

You mean like the white guy who claimed he did coke and had sex with Barry? He should have called the FBI anonymously, then it would have been true.

If only we had a pipeline to import cheap Russian gas to the EU to keep the power on without breaking the bank. It would have been a welcome alternate power source if the ME got even less stable. Oh, wait.....

If only that pipeline wasn't destructed by the US, with the only purpose to cash in on selling gas at 3 times the price to the EU.

The US. Ukraine. Well, they do both start with the same letter, easy to see how you got confused😅

Ramstein and it's associated bases are the vital logistical hubs for any deployments (particularly ground forces) into the Middle East and Africa.

The US air bases in England are the vital forward basing for air operations over the Middle East. The shore bases and ports in the Mediterranean, Italy and Spain, are essential for the US Navy - I know the carriers are nuclear powered but the crews need to be fed, the aircraft have to be maintained and supplied with fuel.and munitions.

Close the bases in Europe and the USA will find its power projection in The Middle East much more difficult and much more expensive - everything will have to be flown or shipped from the US. The logistical, communications and medical support will suddenly become much more involved and expensive. One of your two hospital ships ( you will remember, the ones that Trump wanted to deploy to Greenland but couldn't because they were both in dry dock) will have to be permanently bobbing around behind the sixth fleet.

Mind you, I don't suppose any of this will occur to The Commander in Chief (a stable genius) or his drunken buffoon of a Secretary of State for Defence, when he starts to wave his sharpie around! Then it will of course all be someone else's fault!

Im sure we could repurpose one of our Middle East bases, maybe pick up one in Egypt (they need the money).

I would say Europe/NATO is putting 2 fingers up to him. You went in feet first; your mess, you sort it out. After the way you treated Europe, with tariffs, Europe supported Greenland against you so you just threatened to put more tariffs on the supporting countries. Europe like most countries, knows this is going to go on a while they electret do not want it.

You might have forgotten Ukraine. Europe has not, letting Russia sell more oil, hoping it will keep world oil prices down, and more importantly, keeping the cost of living down in the USA, so they can make /buy more arms to use against Ukraine, a smart move, not. another reason not to support you., you have got ,as said, the USA airbases in the UK.

They know your support is dwindling; they are thinking of your mid-term elections in November, when you will have your wings servile clipped, probably losing both houses.
