Thats right. Common sense prevails. Never argue with someone who insists on defending a regime that chants Death to America, runs terror proxies, kills its own people, and pushes for nukes while calling it just "the obvious".

By your own admission, Iran has been chanting, 'Death to America' for 47 years and yet ... nothing: Iran has been two weeks away from having the capability to produce nuclear weapons since 2018 (see the link posted by @nauseus ) and yet ... nothing: This war was undertaken because Iran presented an imminent threat to the US, and yet .... nothing.

So what next now that the threat from Iran has presumably been nullified? A ground war to install a new US friendly regime or just leave Iran in tatters and tell them to get over it? A new adventure in Cuba because Trump has decided that country also needs to be 'cleansed' of its' existing regime for the benefit of mankind? Or maybe he'll just decide to make the world a better place by resuming his economic war on the rest of us?

Nothing important. The US is fighting WW II style. Iran is/will be fighting guerilla style. Didn't the US learn anything in Vietnam?

Got it. Maybe it's because they don't need to ask us for permission lol and the Europeans are too cowardly to protect their sea route.

But hey, that's a win in your book LOL. The desperation and hysteria of you America haters and Iranian sock puppets is the funniest thing I've seen in ages

Us, us??????? WTF you think you are?

Let's try the US ask for permission, and see how that goes.

The Europeans didn't start the war, so they are not the reason that the SOH is blocked, though I'm sure they will be granted permission if they ask.

Yes they have. The precedent was set in 1940 by the RAF.

The RAF did not create a no-fly zone as the Luftwaffe simply switched to bombing London and other cities. That switch was a strategic blunder as it's arguable that had they persisted in targeting the RAF airfields for a few weeks more, the Battle of Britain would have had a different outcome.

Hitler had lost patience with Göring's notion that quickly gaining air superiority by targeting enemy airfields and destroying their air force would win the war. It was as fanciful then as it is now.

Since the US isn't even capable of protecting their own assets, and Europe doesn't buy oil from Iran, how would THEY (not WE) do that?

They gonna bomb other Middle East countries?

Since I am not in Iran and have never had a 500 pound bomb dropped on my head, I can't answer your question. So I went to AI Gemini:

The Geopolitical Context: Iran

Regarding Iran, the terrain and defensive posture would significantly change the "experience" compared to historical carpet-bombing in Vietnam or Iraq:

Geography: Much of Iran is mountainous. B-52s are massive, non-stealthy targets. To drop unguided "dumb bombs" (500 pounders) directly "on your head," the U.S. would first need to achieve total Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD). Iran’s S-300 and indigenous Bavar-373 systems make high-altitude, non-stealthy loitering extremely dangerous without prior strikes.

Hardened Targets: Because many Iranian strategic assets are buried deep underground (like the Fordow facility), 500-lb bombs would actually be relatively ineffective. They are "general purpose" bombs. For those targets, the B-52 would more likely carry the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), which is 30,000 lbs—a single bomb designed to do what a thousand 500-pounders cannot.

Iran isnt the only country using the straight to ship oil and fertilizer. Are you saying Euros have no interest in keeping the Trump Strait open? We are trying to be nice about it and let them save some face since now the whole world including Russia well knows that not only does Europe not have the means, they dont have the balls, and will roll over like fresh fish in C block unless we step in.

Ill give the useless French credit for at least appearing to be tough. They are good at that. Sort of like a strutting rooster before the knife comes.

But hey if its too much touble LOL

Well I dont doubt that we might do some Yemen action if the Saudis ask us since the Houthis are spasming a bit and being a nuisance to the Red Sea, but nobody else since all the rest are on our side.

"Based on all news reports, what level of air superiority does the US have in Iran"

Based on March 2026 reports, the US has achieved high-level, largely unchallenged air superiority over Iran, allowing for over 7,800 precise strikes, the suppression of advanced air defenses, and the operation of, for example, U-2 surveillance aircraft without high losses, though some risks from mobile, low-altitude threats remain.

Air & Space Forces Magazine +3

Key Aspects of Air Superiority in Iran (March 2026):

  • Operational Freedom: US and allied aircraft are operating with limited interference, allowing for the widespread targeting of military infrastructure, including Iranian naval vessels.

  • Air Defense Degradation: Iranian air defense networks, including Russian-made systems, have been severely degraded, reducing their ability to target U.S. and Israeli aircraft, which has allowed for consistent, sustained sorties.

  • Targeting Precision: The ability to use surveillance aircraft like the U-2 and higher-accuracy munitions (e.g., JDAMs) suggests a permissive to semi-permissive environment.

  • Limitations & Risks: While air superiority is strong, experts note that Iranian mobile surface-to-air missiles and lower-altitude threats still create risks, meaning it is not absolute "air supremacy," but rather high-level air superiority.

    The War Zone +6

Current Status:

  • Coalition Dominance: The U.S. and its allies (notably Israel) have established dominance that has allowed for sustained operations deep into Iranian airspace, as of the end of March 2026.

  • Low Attrition: The campaign has been marked by a significant, unexpected lack of, for example, U.S. manned aircraft losses in combat, further indicating effective control of the airspace.

Wrong again, you still don't get it.

US or Israeli ships can not go through the strait, so why you think it belongs to any of them

The 22 thumbs down in the OP could have more to do with his comment:

no one here will be able to dispute the assertions therein

than anything to do with assertions in his linked Telegraph opinion piece.

His 'dispute this, baby ' m.o. is that he doesn't have to prove anything he has posted is true, just that you have to make the effort to prove it is false.
